The 64th National Film Awards have been announced for the year 2016. Telugu movie Shathamanam Bhavathi has been awarded with the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The movie released during Sankranthi this year and impressed the audience big time. Pelli Choopulu which surprised the audience last year has been awarded as the Best Feature Film for Telugu language. Tarun Bhascker has been awarded as the best dialogue writer for Pelli Choopulu.
Famous choreographer Raju Sundaram has been awarded as the Best Choreographer for NTR’s Janatha Garage. It was Akshay Kumar who got his first National award as an actor for his performance in Rustom. Neerja which impressed the audience and received critical acclaim has been awarded as the Best Film.
