The AgriGold duo, Chairman Avva Venkatarama Rao and his brother and managing director Avva Venkata Seshu Narayana Rao were hospitalised after the duo reported chest pain.
Rama Rao suffered a cardiac arrest and was shifted to the Eluru Hospital and as his condition was deteriorating he was later shifted to private hospital in Vijayawada. He recently endured a bypass surgery.
Later the brother Narayana Rao complained of similar symptoms of high blood pressure and fatigue, who was initially taken to Eluru Government Hospital, but subsequently transported to Vijayawada hospital.
The brothers were arrested last year by the CID officials and remanded to judicial custody. As per the records of the CID, “The investigation is almost complete in all these cases. Only the FSL Reports are waited for charge-sheeting before the appropriate Court”. Six Cases have been registered against five accussed including the Avva brothers.
This the biggest fraud being investigated by the CID, AP with over 32 lakhs depositors being duped for 6380 crore rupees. In Andhra Pradesh alone 19.52 lakh depositors were cheated for 3966 crore rupees.
