Already, the BJP is on the death bed in Andhra Pradesh. Its condition is no better than the Congress. Both the national parties have become enemies of Andhra people after the separation of AP from Hyderabad capital city in 2014. The Congress has realised its fate and it is keeping low profile. But the BJP is putting up a brave front and it is trying to compete with the strong regional players by making all sorts of provocative statements.

During his visit to AP, BJP National President Amit Shah made a statement that provoked angry feelings among the AP people. He said the Modi government had ensured Rs. 10 lakh crore worth projects and programmes in Andhra Pradesh in the past five years. This statement had affected the sentiment of 5.5 crore people of AP. Expectedly, the BJP leaders in the State became more worried about the consequences of Amit Shah’s comments.

There are not many takers for the BJP tickets either for Assembly or Lok Sabha seats in AP in this election. The party leaders are yet to begin candidates selection process though the general election is fast approaching. Instead of making promises to ensure justice to AP, Amit Shah spoke as if their party had done more than enough. Rivals are highlighting this to cause greater damage to BJP.
