Andhra Pradesh Assembly, which met for winter session this morning, was rocked by call money controversy with opposition YSRC demanding taking up the matter for a debate suspending the question hour. The ruckus led to two adjournments, each for ten minutes, as the order in the House could not be restored.

The Opposition YSR Congress demanded a debate by submitting an adjournment motion which was disallowed by the speaker. Expressing disapproval over speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao’s decision, opposition members rushed into the well raising slogans demanding immediate debate. Government chief whip Kalava Srinivasulu’s appeal that the chief minister was planning to give a statement on the issue tomorrow and business be allowed to be taken up as agreed in today’s business advisory committee. His suggestion had not had any effect on the shouting opposition. Speaker Kodela also tried to pacify the opposition. Then the speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes.

Even after the house resumed after first adjournment same disorder continued. Members of Opposition party continued their agitation in the well of the House for immediate debate on the topic. They Chanted slogans against CM also. While his colleagues surrounded the podium of the speaker, Opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy said the subject was too serious in nature as a sex racket was linked to the call money racket to postponed to tomorrow. Postponing the debate won’t do good, he said. He also said an MLA went abroad along with the accused in the call money. He alleged that no MLA had been questioned by the police so far. He said disallowing subject would be an insult to Dr Ambedkar, under whose portrait the house was meeting. He said it was unfortunate that the ruling party was not sparing even Dr Ambedkar to use him for political gains. As the din continued in the house and no regular business could be transacted, Speaker Kodela adjourned the House second time for ten minutes.
