Andhra Pradesh Government decided to inaugurate flights from Gannavaram to Dubai two times in a week and the services would start from March end. The decision has been made after the conducted online opinion by AP Airports Development Corporation received thundering response. As per the survey conducted by APADC, over 20,000 people responded positively for the direct flights in between Gannavaram and Dubai. The voters for Gannavaram – Singapore flights have been 15,000 in number.
Tenders will be called to operate the flights between Dubai, Gannavaram and the time slot along with necessary permissions will be acquired from the Centre. AP Supremo Chandra Babu Naidu feels that direct flights to destinations like Dubai and Singapore would attract several new investors for this developing state. Employment opportunities and Tourism development are the additional advantages. As of now Dubai flyers need to go to Hyderabad for a direct flight and AP Government is trying their best for Gannavaram – Dubai flight service that is expected by the end of March this year.
