Arnab Goswami is back “for the people” with his new venture “Republic”. The speculations are that the channel will start airing before the Uttar Pradesh elections early next year and will be based out of Mumbai. Although the official press announcement is much awaited, he held that this new venture will change the perspective of journalism.

Arnab, who is known for his aggressive journalism, seeks the support of the people of India for his “republic”. He is going to become the face of something he is creating, after his stints at Telegraph Kolkata, NDTV, and Times Now.

There is no denying that he will create sensation and epitomize himself after the vacuum created with the sudden exit. Arnab who shot to fame with the daily prime show ‘The News Hour’, resigned after publicly slamming his boss, Vineet Jain, on the controversy surrounding Pakistani artists working in India.

In a country with market based economy and with so many media organizations coming up day in and out, he aims to make ‘Republic’ global media venture, parallel to the BBC and CNN.

Arnab who gave new face to journalism with his great skills of debate and also powerful speeches beholds that journalism should be independent of political influences. A person who faces Arnab literally undergoes a litmus-test on their personality.

The country has seen quite a few significant changes after Arnab’s resignation in the English TV News industry. The editor of News X channel, Rahul Shivsankar, joined Times Now as Chief Editor.
