BJP takes political advantage out of ‘Accidental PM’ movie?

By all means, there is no doubt that the movie ‘Accidental Prime Minister’ will clearly embarrass the Congress party ahead of 2019 general election in the country. Naturally, it brings lot of cheer for the ruling BJP-led NDA government. How does this film damage interests of the Congress is evident from the release of 3-minute trailer itself.

From the beginning, the Congress leaders have asserted Sonia Gandhi made a supreme sacrifice by refusing to become the PM and in her place she put Manmohan Singh. This has been highlighted all these years by the Congress leaders who say the Gandhi family in only interested in the welfare of Indian people. But the film based on the book by Manmohan’s media adviser Sanjay Baru appears to have many stories on what really happened at that time.

Going by the trailer, a kind of political atmosphere prevailed all through when some leaders always wanted to look for chances to bring in Rahul Gandhi to replace Manmohan Singh. In Sanjay Baru’s viewpoint, there is nothing faulty about Manmohan’s style of functioning but then he has become a victim in a family drama. Whether this is the original and actual view of Baru or not, it is true the film makers have made Baru’s character express such opinions.

Following this, Congress leaders have accused BJP of encouraging this film only to divert attention of the people from the failures of the Modi government.
