Brahmotsavam USA day 1 collections overseas premiers
Mahesh Babu starrer Brahmotsavam opened to good collections in USA, which is considered as strong area for him. The movie ended up with a gross of $5444,680 on Thursday. Though this is a very good number, considering the expectations on this movie, this is below par for Mahesh Babu. The movie was released in upwards of 200 theaters and releasing in Summer, which is a prime time for telugu movies in USA. As the movie received lukewarm response, it will be interesting to see how much it would end up at. “My closing number is around $1.5M. This is going to be a huge loss for exhibitors after Sardaar Gabbar Singh as this was sold for very high prices” opined an exhibitor from Texas on condition of anonymity. Overseas rights for Brahmotsavam were acquired for $13.2crores and movie would have to gross upwards of $3M to break even. What would your guess be? How much would be the closing figure for overseas?
