Is YSR Congress party shooting itself in its foot in ‘cash-for-vote’ case? It may be recalled that YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy had claimed that the TDP government would collapse since Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is embroiled in a major scandal. Eventually, the remarks backfired Jagan and his party as his 20 MLAs had shifted loyalties to the TDP.

Now, the YSRCP is making such moves which actually not at all needed at this point in time. Following the Hyderabad High Court stay order on the investigation of infamous cash for vote scam, YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy knocked the doors of the Supreme Court in Delhi challenging the High Court stay order.

The Supreme Court on Thursday opined that it is unfair on part of the YSRCP MLA to file such petitions to gain political mileage. The Supreme Court also clarified that it would not intervene into the case at this current juncture. The Apex Court ordered the Hyderabad High Court to take a decision on quash petition filed by the lawyer on behalf of Chandrababu Naidu within a month. After the decision by the court, the YSRCP MLA can approach the Supreme Court for further justice, Ramakrishna Reddy was told.

Though the party has no connection with the case, one can surmise that the leaders are making all out efforts in bringing troubles to the Chief Minister, in fact deliberately.

Meanwhile, notices were issued to Jagan and Vijaya Sai Reddy by the Enforcement Directorate. Is this a ‘tit-for-tat’ move from the government?

Recently, YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy had criticised Naidu that the latter had mastered connivance and hatching conspiracies. Now the YSRCP is doing the same thing in making a deliberate attempt to fix Naidu. It has to remember that any move to provoke the ruling TDP would backfire its own party from its earlier experience.

The left parties too criticise the ruling TDP, but vindictiveness adopted by the YSRCP would backfire itself. The YSRCP should realise from its earlier experience. There would be no future for the YSRCP if it continues with such ideology.
