The ‘Fani’ super cyclone left a trail of destruction in the Odisha border areas of Andhra Pradesh. CM Chandrababu Naidu announced that over 733 villages came under the impact of the cyclone. The accurate predictions of Real-Time Governance Society on the movement of the cyclone helped in preventing major damages in the state. Naidu said that the preliminary damages were estimated to be Rs 10 crore and horticulture crops were destroyed in over 783 hectares.

The communication network was badly hit in the affected areas. Over 182 cell phone signal towers were repaired. The cyclone badly damaged crops and basic facilities in over 14 mandals. Chandrababu Naidu said that nearly 232 relief camps and medical camps were held.

Ichchapuram in border area recorded 20 cm heavy rainfall. CM Naidu spoke to Odisha CM Navin Patnaik and enquired about the heavy damages in their state. Odisha faced the fury of the cyclone. AP districts had relief as there was no loss of life or major destruction of property.
