Gadkari offers liberal assistance to Andhra Pradesh

Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari assured central assistance to the Outer Ring Road (ORR Project) being taken up encircling the new capital city of Amaravati. The cost of the project would be about Rs 20,000 crore. Centre, Gadkari said, would definitely extend its cooperation to the construction of the ORR. Gadkari was in Vijyawada to lay foundation stone for the construction of flyovers, and works on two national highways in Vijayawada. The flyover at Durga Gudi, which chief minister Naidu named as Kanakadurga flyover, was very important work for Vijayawada.

Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation the union minister assured that about 1350 KM length of National Highway work would undertaken in the state at a cost of Rs 13,500 crore. He asked chief minister Naidu to get the DPR prepared as early as possible. Gadkari was all praise for the vision of Naidu and said Naidu and he were of same wavelength. ” Naidu is trusted friend of NDA and Centre will offer all help to the development of Andhra Pradesh under his leadership,” he said.

Thanking the union minister for the gesture, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said the ORR of Amaravati would be longest in the country and longer than that of Hyderabad with 220 km. Naidu assured the people of Vijayawada that the government would ensure the completion of the Kanakadurga flyover before the commencement of Krishna Puskharalu next year. Amaravati, he said, would become, one of the top five ultra-modern cities in the world. A straight road between Amarvati and Bengaluru, via Kurnool and Anantapur would be laid soon, he said. He urged union minister to help develop the backward region of Rayalaseema. Union Urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu and union science and technology minister of state Sujana Chowdary and many state ministers, MPs, and MLAs attended the program.
