After the postponement of Janatha Garage was announced, a huge reshuffling of releases happened. Movies shifted dates backwards and forwards. But there was one film, which was literally awaiting the postponement of the NTR-starrer, so that they can come forward on the same date. We had learnt that from the start, they looked at that slot as an ideal one to release their film. However, when the right time came, they didn’t really talk at all. In fact, it seemed like they weren’t in the race at all.

Well, the thing is the producers of the film announced their other venture Babu Bangaram for the date as it was supposed to release in July initially. The uncertainty of Kabali postponed the Venkatesh-starrer which lead to the delay or rather postponing of Premam.

We hear that the film is now set to hit the screens either on September 9 or 16 depending on several other factors, informs a source. This will again probably be releasing as a competition to Janatha Garage a week later and we might see a mini battle this September.

Apparently the team has wrapped up most of the work and presently RR is going on.

Director Chandoo Mondeti is said to have been under pressure to match the original Malayalam film Premam and put in his all to bring out the nativity which was the soul of that film. It is learnt that he has made all attempts to ensure people who have watched the Malayali version will find this enjoyable as well.
