Andhra Pradesh Opposition Party YSR Congress conducted ‘Save Vishaka’ MahaDharna led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday demanding CBI probe into Vishakapatnam Land Scam. The magnitude of the scam was evident from the number of victims who came seeking help of the parties. The all-party meeting was attended by CPI, CPM and Lok Satta.
Jagan held that CBI enquiry is essential, as the SIT is merely an eyewash because it comprises of officials of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He attacked several TDP leaders including Ganta Srinivas Rao for their illegal activities and alleged that land grab fling happened with the backing of Chandrababu and his son Lokesh. The YSRCP chief accused the chief minister of giving away encroached government lands to MVVS Murthy and said that Rajiv Swagruha lands were trespassed. He pointed that the benamis of Ganta procured assigned lands and with the blessings of Lokesh GOs were passed in the name of land pooling.
Jagan asserted that if YSRCP comes to power in 2019, all the legitimate owners will be given their lands and the encroachers will be put in jail. He said that labelling the trespassing as a consequence of HudHud cyclone, numerous records were tampered. The opposition leader said that when his party comes to power, the culprits will be drowned in Bay of Bengal.
Earlier Chandrababu speaking said that it would take two decades for CBI to complete their investigation. Taking a jibe at the CM statement’s, Opposition leader said, “CBI would confine Chandrababu, Lokesh, his party members and administrators”
The response to this Maha Dharna is enough to understand the intensity of problems people of Vishakapatnam are facing. It is high time that the TDP supremo takes serious action as most of the victims belong to poor or middle class families.
