Jagan is currently doing Padayatra in West Godavari district and he announced he will rename the district from W.Godavari to Alluri Sitha rama Raju district if he comes to power.
He told, some people belonging to Kshatriya caste met him and remarked Alluri’s services have been forgotten. To this Jagan replied that he will name the district with Alluri’s name. Alluri is born in Vishakhapatnam district. Alluri is national leader and he belong to all Telugu people and all castes. In fact he belongs to India and entire nation owes to him.
However, Jagan saying, on the request of Kshatriya caste people he is taking this decision shows his myopic view of seeing the leader as someone belonging to a particular caste. Even though NTR also leader of all Telugu people, Jagan’s statement drew ire from across the sections as there have been several caste equations underlying this. Same is the case with current statement too. There have been caste inequalities among the castes. If the decision is taken to pamper the people belonging to dominant community that has very less population, it will definitely attract the ire of others.
It is surprising to see Jagan not learning lessons from his previous mistake with Krishna district.
