Telangana government today appointed a high level committee to expedite and oversee the construction of prestigious residential complex of chief minister and key all India service officers at Begumpet, Hyderabad. The committee is headed by chief secretary Rajiv Sharma. Special Chief Secretary to Govt.,MA&UD ,Principal Secretary to Govt.(Poll), GAD ,Principal Secretary, Revenue Dept., Prl.Secretary to Govt., TR&B Dept., Secretary to Govt., Finance Dept., and Engineer-in-chief, R&B (Buildings) are members of the committee. The committee will examine the three issues, 1) construction of New Secretariat Building Complex; (2) Construction of Chief Minister’s Residence; and (3) construction of quarters for AIS Officers.
As the existing camp office at Begumpet proved congested for the chief minister, KCR has planned a spacious office on a site of 8.9 acres close to the present Camp Office. Besides chief minister’s residence, the complex will have quarters for all important officers of the government . According to sources, The new camp residence will also have a conference hall with seating capacity of 500 . The complex will also have ample space to park more 200 cars. A protection wall will be raised around the complex for security.
“The state of the art CM’s camp office will equipped with video conferencing facility which would be linked with proposed Police Command Control Centre. Until now, the CMO is depending on MCRHRD and Hitex to conduct big review meetings, as the existing camp office planned when video conferences were not popular with chief ministers. The new office will address all these issues,” sources in the government said.
On March 5, 2016 Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation stone for the camp office, which is expected cost state around `30 crore.
