The Telangana Congress leaders are warning AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy against coming their state as Chief Guest at the inauguration of Kaleswaram irrigation project on Godavari river. They are asking Jagan not to accept KCR’s invitation to AP CM which has triggered a political controversy in the Telugu states.
Congress says that the KCR family is using multi-crore Kaleswaram project as a money-spinning project rather than really helping the farmers. Back in Andhra Pradesh, experts are taking objection to Kaleswaram as it will damage the interests of AP farmers in future. Nearly 151 TMC of water will be drawn Godavari river at Kaleswaram which will lead to reduced flows to Polavaram and other downstream projects in AP.
KCR has not yet formally come to AP to invite Jagan but the issue has blown out of proportions already.
