KCR repays ‘Warangal’ debt

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a slew of developmental projects for Warangal, the second biggest city in the state after Hyderabad. This is in reciprocation to the victory, the Warangal people gave to TRS in the recently concluded Lok Sabha byelection.

Rao, who has been on a three-day visit to the city, today reviewed the status of various projects in city and in the district. He said country’s biggest textile park was coming up in Warangal, where everything related to the textile sector would set up. He disclosed that Rs 100 crore had been released for the acquisition of required land for the park. He assured the people that Godavari water would be supplied to the villages in four Assembly segments in the district by April 30.The CM said by June next year all the tanks in the district namely Ramappa, laknavaram and Ghanapuram would connected to Devadula and interlinked. Stating that Warangal was going to witness population boom in the next three or four year with the addition of a population of three to four lakh, he said the city would be developed with clean markets, drains, roads etc to make living safe and pleasant in the historic city. Among other things the CM announced for Warangal are:

* Textile Park will be set up soon.

* Delhi Public School and Hyderabad Public School.

* Tribal University.

* Rs 300 crore every year for Warangal city.

* Already Centre identified the city for Smart City and Amruta schemes. They will be expedited.

* Warangal fort and tank will be developed into a major tourist attraction.

* Construction of Outer Ring Road .

* Repairs to SRSP Kakatiya Canal with Rs 130 crore.

* Double-bed room houses for poor in government lands in Warangal.

* Autonagar will be shifted outside the city.

* Drinking water to every household in the district through mission Bhagiratha.

* Consultants to appointed to recommend the improvements for sanitation, burial grounds etc.

* A hospital on the lines of NIMS
