The design of the Korean auto-maker Kia Motors’ Indian arm in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh has been reportedly defined. The design will be analogous to its plant in the United States. A team of business officials will soon visit the US to examine the plant in Georgia.

Apart from its headquarters in Seoul, the firm has the most attractive plant spread across 2200-acres in Georgia in North America. The plant started operations in February2010 and around ten thousand people are employed currently.

Kia informed the state government that it will build the Anantapur plant using the design and strategy of its US unit.

GoAP and Kia wanted to commence the construction of the plant in August. But due to the announcement of the Nandyal by-election schedule, the foundation stone laying ceremony is postponed.

The Korean firm informed the state government that around 150 industries subsidiary or allied industries will be reportedly coming from South Korea to AP. They are estimated to be spread across more than 200 acres of land. APIIC has already acquired the land for the subsidiaries.

It may be recalled that the South Korean company has announced an investment of Rs 13000Crore. GoAP signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Kia Motors to build a new manufacturing facility in Anantapur district.

GoAP allocated 587 acres of land at Erramanchi and Gudipalli villages in Penukonda Mandal. Through this plant, the firm will be providing 11000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
