Popular dalit leader Manda Krishna Madiga added new dimension to the controversy surrounding the construction of Amaravati. He said those who were most affected and set to be uprooted were dalits. They were basically small, marginal farmers and farm laborers, and needed justice, he said.

The founder of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS)  is to sit on deeksha for justice to dalits, who are going to be affected by the capital development in Guntur district, on September 13, 2015.

Krishna  Madiga said  severe injustice was being meted out to dalits in the capital region and his organization would not hesitate to contest the construction of the new capital if rehabilitation package was not judicious and as per act he said.

He announced that he would stage a deeksha on September 13 to protest against the injustice done to dalits in the capital region.

” The government has gathered enough land than what is required for the development of any  capital city. There is no need for acquisition of  more land forcibly by the government. We oppose this and ready to fight  the acquisition of land against the will of the farmers,” he said.
