“Me too” movement that started in Hollywood an year back, just got triggered in India too. Surprisingly, the movement spread wild in media industry rather than in the film industry. Many journalists are coming out and speaking about the harassment they faced. Journalist and writer Sandhya Menon earlier exposed senior editor of Times of India. Now she shared the story of another lady journalist who quit the profession and the media industry after being harassed by an editor.
The lady journalist wrote, “I was so scared to talk about this all these years because there were times when he would make sure I replied to his advances on texts. And that made me so ashamed of myself. One day I just quit the job and never went back to journalism. My fault was that I complied. #metoo. He is the editor (south) of India Today TV channel. That is all the guts I have to mention.”
Even though the lady journalist didn’t reveal the name, people in media circles could easily make out his name and they are seen sharing how cruel that guy is. Another highlight is, that editor deleted his twitter account after these allegations surfaced.
