Why senior leader of Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) Motkupalli Narsimhulu wants to merge the party into ruling TRS? During the event at NTR Ghat in connection with 22nd death anniversary of TDP founder and former CM of AP Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the TTDP leader Motkupalli said that Telangana TDP was sinking boat and there was no support to him in order to set all things right in the party. “There is no future to TTDP. AP CM Chandrababu should attend the event at NTR Ghat, but, he has no time to visit Telangana. Based on the present circumstances in TTDP, it is better to merge it into TRS. It is good for leaders as well as party workers,” he said.

He further said that the TDP workers in adverse conditions were getting mental stress. “KCR is none other. He went from our party. TRS is also ours. If we merge TTDP in TRS, definitely NTR’s soul will get peace. This is my personal advice to Chandrababu. It depends on him whether he takes the decision or not,” he said.

Motkupalli is feeling since few years that the party is not giving priority to him. He expected Governor Post earlier as the party’s chief Chandrababu promised him. But, he didn’t get such opportunity.

As the statements of Motkupalli became sensational in Telangana politics, other TTDP leaders have flayed on him. Senior leader Yerrabelli Dayakar said that the party did a mistake by giving him key posts. “If I would there at NTR Ghat during Motkupalli’s speech, the situation might be different. Leaders don’t decide party’s future and it is the decision of party workers,” he said.

TTDP leader L. Ramana said that it might be personal opinion of Motkupally. “We discuss the matter in politburo soon. TDP gave freedom of speech to every leader. We must contest from all assembly segments in upcoming elections,” he said.
