Andhra Pradesh government recently launched Anna canteen scheme across the state.Almost more than 100 canteens have been launched.As per reports, government is spending Rs 55 a person for three meals a day at Anna canteens and charging only 5/- per people.
But, improper estimations and inadequate planning creating issues at Anna canteens. Yesterday, at Yemmiganur there were chaos and confusion at Anna canteen. Yemmiganur Mandal has more than 1 lakh population but it seems food was sufficient only for 350 to 400 people. While people came in large numbers, organizers were unable to control the crowds and Municipal commissioner was informed about the situation.
Municipal commissioner reached the venue and thrashed at people in order to bring the situation under control. However, the poor, who came for food but got beaten by the commissioner were criticizing the commissioner as well as organizers for their improper planning and inadequate food prepared.
