Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered his outstretched hand to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu for sharing river waters. Neighboring state should always be accommodating to each other and frequent bickering won’t help anybody, the CM said.

Addressing media at Bhadrachalam, where he was attending the Sitarama Kalyanam on Friday, KCR said when he could reach an agreement with a non-Telugu Maharashtra for water sharing, he would more than be willing to share waters with another Telugu state.
Reiterating what he said at the time of his power-point presentation in Assembly, KCR said he was ready to cooperate with Andhra Pradesh below Dummugudem project.

Even if Telangana uses 1000 TMC water, Andhra was sure to get 1500 TMC, he said. ” All this Godavari water will flow down to sea. As the tail-end state Andhra Pradesh can use this and this is more than enough to meet the demands of the state. What is wrong if the Telugu children use the water that otherwise goes into sea,” he asked.

Talking about the development of Bhadrachalam, the CM said the government had earmarked Rs 100 crore for the Bhdrachalam project. ” Lord Rama’s temple, Parnasala and Jathayuvu will be developed. I will stay for a night here along with Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and formulate the program for development. We will get the five panchayats back to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh,” he said and added that chief minister Naidu had expressed willingness to give them back.

Having located between two great rivers of Godavari and Krishna, Khammam district is not supposed suffer from droughts, he said. ” Two projects have been sanctioned for the district. Once the Bhadrachalam project is completed, Khammam will get transformed in an unprecedented way,” the CM assured.

Taking dig at opposition parties for their stand on the redesigning of irrigation projects in the state, the CM said the mission to bring a crore acres under irrigation would go whatever hurdle they create.
” We are doing very well in welfare projects. And Telangana is a front-line state in the development. Our stand has been vindicated by the recognition we are getting from all corners,” he said.
