“If he(KCR) does like that (tries to arrest me in cash for vote case ) then it will be the last day for his government,” AP CM Naidu told NDTV in Delhi on June 10,2015

“Even Lord Brahma can’t save you, I warn you, Mr Naidu,” KCR said in what was an open threat. “You can’t do your stuff on this soil of Telangana, I warn you.” a day before T-CM KCR warned Naidu

This was the rivalry between the two chief ministers exactly six months ago.

Now , the same Naidu is a mellowed man, a friend of chief minister KCR and Telangana, indirectly of TRS. From the election meeting organized to defeat the TRS in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation poll last evening, Naidu extended olive branch indirectly. He said both Telangana and Andhra need to travel hand in hand from the stage ostensibly meant to defeat TRS in polls.

His completely different kind of ‘political speech ‘ lends credence to the talk that Naidu is withdrawing from Hyderabad and Telagnana as per an alleged agreement brokered by a union minister, who was wanting Rajya Sabha nomination from Andra Pradesh.

Can election be fought without making an a villain out of the rival? Not possible?

Naidu played defence over TRS. Forgetting that much water had flown in Krishna and Godavari between 2004 and now, Naidu boasted of building high tech city, outer ring road, flyovers during his tenure as chief minister between 1994-2004. People are not innocent to be carried away by the vapid electoral talk of Naidu. Memories of Naidu’s humiliating defeat immediately in 2004, when the his flyovers, high-tech city etc were still wet, are fresh in the minds of people. He was shown the door in the same city which he boasted of having built.

Naidu delivered his most tasteless and uninspiring speech at a time when the Telangana IT minister K Tarakaramarao, who is leading the GHMC campaign, was aggressively trying to woo the Seemandhra People by saying that there were no settlers in Hyderabad and all were Hyderabadis.

He said he himself was a settler- a powerful strategic change in TRS politics indeed. And Naidu had no equally forceful argument to counter this. Naidu’s assertion as builder of the modern Hyderabad paled into insignificance beside the carefully crafted strategy of TRS meant to confuse and convince the Seemandhra voters into believing that TRS is the best bet for them.

Naidu’s speech is, in fact, carried the TRS campaign further. When Tarakaramarao, changed the tune, Naidu was not in a position to say that it was only a campaign tune for votes and only a mask.

What does it mean? Is Niadu convinced that change in TRS attitude towards Seemandhra people is genuine?

Is Naidu scared of TRS destructive state-power in Hyderabad where he need to protect his alleged economic interests as is being talked about in political circles?

Who is ditching the Seemandhra people- Naidu or TRS?

TRS is practicing pragmatic politics while Naidu is faced with existential problems in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad.

Naidu’s approach helped TRS hold its head high in confidence of winning the majority.

TDP supremo failed to instill confidence among the Seemandhra People. It is clear that he is not interested in preserving the identity of this huge community as political force. Minus this agenda, TDP would end up as a silent admirer of TRS and the space being vacated by Naidu is expected to be occupied by the pink party as quid pro quo.

By yesterday’s meeting, TRS appears to have emerged a bit stronger in Hyderabad, where once the party was non-entity even at the height of T-movement.
