Naidu’s cabinet decisions have pro-Telangana slant : YSRC allges

YSR Congress alleged that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was trying to help out Telangana government in constructing the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects on Krishna river by showing a way out.

According to the opposition party, chief minister Naidu, who was involved in the cash for vote case, has never been assertive in protecting the water-rights of the state, and has never taken a strong objection to the projects being taken up by the KCR government upstream Srisailam project.

‘The cabinet decisions have a dubious slant in favor of Telangana, which is going ahead with the Palamuru Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects. Naidu’s cabinet, which had been silent for about a year, met only after YS Jaganmohan Reddy had announced his deksha. The cabinet decisions have enough safeguards for Telangana,’ former MLA and senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said.

Taking up the Pattiseema in lieu of Polavarm, bhumana alleged, Chandrababu Naidu totally surrendered himself to KCR at the cost of the welfare of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh.

He said the decisions of cabinet were full of tokenism and had enough hints for KCR government on how to go ahead on the projects.

Stating that Naidu’s reaction lacked conviction, Bhumana said it was the time for resistance and to adopt combative approach as Jagan was doing.

“The proposed projects will deny water to Rayalaseema, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore in AP, besides harming the interests of Khammam and Nalgonda districts in Telangana,” he said.

Meanwhile Telangana YSRC leader K Raghava Reddy took strong objection to the remarks made by party MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy while crossing over to TRS. “It is unfair on his part to leave the party blaming YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s stand on the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project,” he said.
Ponduleti should not forget that the projects would also have negative impact on Khammam, Nalgonda and parts of Mahbubnagar districts, he said.

“The cause which YS Jaganmohan Reddy has taken up is just. Ponguleti is at liberty to leave the party or join any party of his choice, but attributing his desertion to Jagan’s fast was unfair,” Raghava Reddy added.
