Another woman member from NTR family is stepping out for a first-time public appearance.
After Nara Brahmani’s ‘arangetram’ in November, now it is the turn of Bhuvaneswari, her mother-in-law, and mother of Nara Lokesh, heir apparent of TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu, to come before the TV cameras.
Bhuvaneswari is addressing a press conference at 9.30 AM Monday. The press conference is being held at Skill Development Centre, established in NTR Trust Bhavan, Hyderabad. Even though her husband and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has been in public life for about 30 years, Bhuvaneswari has never showed up in public other than in family ceremonies. Even after her sister Purandeswari entered public life , when the latter’s husband Daggubati Venkateswara Rao raised the banner of revolt against Naidu, Bhuvaneswari maintained silence and never chose to make any political comment.
Now, NTR Trust Bhavan informed that she would address a press conference Monday morning. Though no clue has been given about the topic she is going to dwell on, it is unlikely that she would speak politics. Since her daughter-in-law is involved in organizing training to the youth and students, wanting to appear competitive examinations, chances are that she would carry forward the program.
But, would it be without any political meaning?
In a political family, a public appearance means sending across a subtle message. Though it is too early to decipher politically her decision to step out of the confines of family life, even in the name of public service, it can’t definitely be an event without any political consequence. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
