After catching TDP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao, the Maoists had not immediately pumped bullets into his body in the recent violence in Araku valley. They took him on a walk from the actual spot for a few hundred feet and engaged him in a casual talk for nearly half an hour.

The MLA was stated to have pleaded with the captors not to kill him and instead sit somewhere there to discuss terms of his release. The Maoists said there would be no discussion of any sort with him any longer.

The MLA promised to quit politics and stop interfering with the mining and social issues in the agency. He further said that he would do everything not to embarrass Maoists any longer if they give him a chance this time.

Quite dramatically, the Maoists refused to give him any chance to live anymore, saying that he missed many such opportunities in the past. The Maoists also took strong objection to the MLA’s change of his loyalty to TDP allegedly for monetory gains. They said instead of supporting tribals’ cause, the MLA helped mining activities. They were particularly angry about the government laying roads in the agency areas.saying this would lead to exploitation of tribals rather than helping their livelihoods.
