Kakinada is being decked up for the NTR Beach Festival which will be celebrated to promote the tourist spots in East Godavari district. The three-day festival will be flagged off by CBN on the 8th of January. “The idea is to attract national and international tourists to this region. Not just the beach, but we have mangroves and islands here which will attract the tourists in their very first visit,” Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said. “Besides providing entertainment to the public, festivals like these aim to accelerate the economic activity. People spend some of their savings on entertainment and food here, which, in turn, will help traders improve their business,” he added.

· Replicas of all major temples in the district to appeal to senior citizens
· 2K Run which will witness participation of over 5,000 students from various educational institutions

· Performances by the film and television artistes and technicians
