One can only hope it’s good times ahead for T-Town

When Suresh Babu backed Pelli Choopulu, everyone appreciated him for believing in a small film. Interestingly, the film was made on a meager budget of 90Lakhs and went on to collect huge money not just in India but overseas as well. So much so, you can probably rightly call it the biggest blockbuster ever because of the return on investment.

Well, if that set a precedent, Kshanam was no less. Made on a small budget, the film grabbed eyeballs because of the fresh content.

And now, producer Dil Raju has announced his collaboration with the team of Vellipomake, earlier called Ila Naa Jathaga. Before we tell you what it signifies, let us give you a flashback.

Back in May, Nani shared the trailer of a film and expressed happiness and wished the makers luck. A film made by nobody – no connections in the industry – had caught a biggies eye. What followed was the most interesting part though.

The film’s director Yakub Ali was called by multiple producers to meet up. The trailer became talked about in no time. But then, after a trailer release, things took a back turn and nothing seemed to happen. In fact, a promised audio launch was still pending.

Well, now it turns out Dil Raju met up with the director and was so much in love with the film that he decided to help with the release. But that wasn’t going to be easy. As much as the film felt great, he wanted to make sure there wasn’t even a small glitch and he suggested a few minor changes as well.

And then the announcement happened. Well, you must be wondering why it is a good time for the industry. We are getting there. Earlier, for an independent filmmaker with a new vision, it wasn’t an easy task to release his film at all. For a top producer to associate with a small film was a big deal. Star collaborations have been the thing of the industry and this does open several new arenas and gives hope to many.

If Suresh Babu, PVP and Dil Raju have done it, everyone can and probably will. Let’s see where this goes.
