Sankranthi 2017 witnessed one of the biggest box office clashes in recent times with the release of Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 and Balakrishna’s Gauthamiputra Satakarni. Unlike the previous Sankranthi clashes when there was a winner at the box office, this year it is a win-win situation for both the big ticket films as they notched up solid figures in all areas.
Interestingly, one more Mega – Nandamuri clash at the BO may happen this year. This time it will be Pawan Kalyan vs NTR. Both Pawan Kalyan and NTR will commence shooting for their new films from March. While Pawan is teaming up with Trivikram Srinivas, NTR will join forces with Bobby. Both these films will be wrapped up by mid July and the makers are planning to release them in August. It is learnt that both these films are scheduled for release in the second week of August.
While NTR is coming from back to back hits, the Pawan – Trivikram combination is carrying heavy expectations. So, it would be an interesting fight at the BO, if both these films release as per the schedule.
