Pawan’s fan murder case: prime accused held

Bengaluru: Hours after Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan demanded that the perpetrators behind murder of his fan Vinod Royal should be punished, the Karnataka police on Thursday arrested prime accused Akshay Kumar along with two other persons at Nandini Dhabha near Narsapuram in Karnataka.

The Karnataka police confirmed that total of seven persons were involved in the murder. On August 22, Vinod Royal, who attended organ donation programme on Aug 22 at Kolar in Karnataka, was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend Sunil over a trivial issue. Accused Sunil, also a fan of Jr.NTR, took objection when Vinod shouted “Jai Pawanism” at the end of the programme. The programme was inaugurated by senior actor Suman.

Although, the quarrel was subsided at that moment, both the youngsters reportedly entered into a heated argument after coming out of the venue. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly stabbed Vinod with knife. Vinod succumbed to his stab injuries while shifting to hospital. Vinod, a B.Tech graduate, was scheduled to fly to America for further studies in a week.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena founder who visited the family members in Tirupati assured help from his party. He further said that he would bring to the notice of the Centre if the State government shows negligence in catching the culprits.
