Petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the early elections in Telangana. Shasak Reddy, who filed the petition in the Supreme Court arguing that by conducting early elections , Telangana government is depriving constitutional rights of some people of Telangana.

As per the petitioner, in Telangana, over 20 lakh youth will be able to register themselves for voting if the elections happen along with the general elections. But by conducting elections much earlier than the stipulated time, all these youngsters will not be able to register themselves for voting, and this is depriving them of the rights provided to them by constitution.

Petitioner also argued that, in Telangana, there is no need to go for early elections as the government has full strength. He urged SC to give direction for instituting Governor rule in the state and conduct election along with 2019 general elections.

We will have to wait and see how SC responds on this petition.
