Santhanam is popular comedian in Tamil Cinema. He is known to Telugu audience also through dubbed films like Robo. Police Case has been filed against him for attacking a real estate builder regarding delay in construction of a wedding hall.
According to the police, Mr. Santhanam gave a huge amount to a builder (Shanmugasundaram) as advance for the construction of a wedding hall. The project was delayed by the builder. At one of point of time, the project was stopped. Infuriated, the actor questioned the builder and demanded repayment of the money. As the builder did not oblige, both were at loggerheads for some time.
Builder invited Santhanam and his manager to his office on Monday evening. Then, the verbal duel turned into a fight. Both sides lodged complaints with the police, who registered cases against both. Santhanam has moved the Madras High Court seeking advance bail in the case.
