Saakshyam Audio

Saakshyam is an upcoming mass entertainer starring Bellamkonda Srinivas and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. The film is directed by Srivass who gave some good hits like Loukyam earlier. Music for this film is composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar.

The funky album begins on high voltage note with Design Your Destiny penned by the talented lyricist Ananth Sriram. The composer himself sang it along with Haricharan and Jithin with great energy levels. The Hip-Hop beats and stylish appearance of the song is quite a good launchpad for the songs to follow. The interludes maintain the high energy levels with great vigor and style.

Ishq Karle is a groovy number sung by Ranjith , Janani and Yadhu Krishnan. Ananth Sriram delivers cool lyrics which are trendy yet poetic once again. The foot tapping rhythm is fused with Arabic flavour which is quite an experiment. Despite the Mani Sharma’s 90s flavour, the song manages to create a good impact. The raagas used in this composition are the mystical Mayamalagowla and Punnagavarali.

A jazzy number Soundarya Lahari is quite a rage already with its classical touches comprising of strings and electronic sequencing. Jithin and Aarathi do a commendable job with this smooth number and Ananth Sriram delivers another good poetic ensemble. The chord progression is quite pleasant and appealing to hear.

An inevitable wedding song Dungu Dungu is well supported by folksy vocals by Padmalatha,Mansi and Ananthu and penned by Ananth Sriram once again. The modern wedding atmosphere is greatly brought in terms ofmusic and lyrics with good mastery. The song has a playfulness associated with it and it is quite a good addition to the commercial album.

The title number Shivam Shivam is sung by legends Yesudas, SPB,Hariharan , Bombay Jayasree and Kailash Kher. Composed in the philosophical raaga Panthuvarali, the song is deep in meaning and high on quality. The Shiva Tatvam of revenge and the aggression is quite good be unleashed well. Ananth Sriram’s lyrics speak about the inevitability of death and the power of pure revenge.

The finale occurs with Cheliya Choode – a smooth duet sung by Harshavardhan Rameshwar and Madhu Priya. The song adds a melodious touch to the overall album with its own vigor. The interludes are sweet and relaxed sounding with neat strings and chord progression.

Verdict:

Saakshyam is an and out and out commercial album and the newcomer Harshavardhan Rameshwar makes a thumping debut as a music composer.

Our Picks: Shivam Shivam, Soundarya Lahari
