Shoban Babu shoot will begin next week and it will be directed by Viplove, who made Hitudu. Speaking to T360.com, Rahul Ravindran says it is not a bio pic, it has been named Shoban Babu because the actor would have atleast two or three heroines in his movies. In this film too Rahul will romance three girls hence the name. Nitya Shetty and Parvathy Nair of Uttama Villain are the two heroines, the third will be announced soon. The actor says all the three girls are not mere props, they have a very substantial role to play in the movie Nitya Shetty has worked in Dhagudamutha Dhandakor and she has done around 22 films as a child artiste.
