Cyclone Gaja creating havoc across Tamil Nadu. Nearly one lakh people rendered homeless in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu because of the cyclone. According to officials, 10 men and 3 women died and 28 head of cattle perished in cyclone-related incidents. Cyclone hit mainly Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Tiruvarur districts.
Many people coming forward to help cyclone victims. Rajinikanth also came forward and his team distributed food packets to cyclone victims. Food packets were distributed by RMM (Rajini Makkal Mandram), the launch vehicle of Rajinikanth’s yet-to-be-announced political party. However, Rajni became target for netizens as he tried to milk the tragedy for publicity by printing Rajni stamps on the food packets. The way Rajini tried to get political mileage out of the relief work is criticized by netizens as well as general public.
But Rajni tweeted commending RMM officials for their relief efforts in the Gaja cyclone. It seems Rajni is behaving like any other politician, at least that’s the impression people get by seeing this entire episode, even though he is saying he joined politics to bring change in politics.
