Revanth Reddy farmhouse demolition; Congress files petition in HC

Hours later the arrest of Congress leader Revanth Reddy, his farm house compound walls was demolished by unidentified persons. The TPCC working president Reddy has over three acre farm house at Gopannapalli here. Few persons using three JCB excavators demolished the compound wall in the wee hours of Tuesday. The police has taken 10 people into custody and started investigation. Congress leaders alleged that this is nothing but to divert the issue of arrest. The Telangana police has arrested Revanth Reddy and taken to Jadcherla training center. The police also arrested his brother, security men and watchman as well in Kodangal constituency. The high drama of arrest took place at 3am this morning.

In a preempt measure, the police took this initiative in the wake of public meeting being organized by the TRS at Kosgi in Kodangal constituency on Tuesday. It’s learnt that the police took Reddy to Shamshabad police station and released watchman at Parigi village.

Expressing concerns over the arrest, Geetha, wife of Revanth Reddy, said that “it’s a direct attack on their self-respect. People should react to this incident by defeating the TRS party in Telangana.”

Over 100 policemen have been deployed at the resident of Revanth Reddy and 144 section is in force in all mandals of Kodangal constituency. The police have taken several Congress leaders into custody. Meanwhile, the Congress cadres got into action to protest against the arrest of Revanth Reddy. Several Congress partymen gathered at his residence and started raising slogans against the police department and the TRS party.

Petition in High Court over arrest

Challenging the arrest of Revanth Reddy, the Congress party on Tuesday filed a lunch motion petition in High Court. TRS party too complained to the Election Commission against the statement of Revanth Reddy that he would stall the public meeting of KCR in his constituency. On the other hand, Revanth Reddy’s wife Geetha has announced that she would go to the public meeting of KCR to protest against the arrest of her husband.

Now, all eyes turned to the outcome of the High Court amid rising curiosity and prevailing tension ahead of KCR’s public meeting in Kodangal constituency.
