YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy is very serious this time. He is considering all aspects especially community strengths and winning chances before finalising candidates. No recommendations and no faction politics. Now YCP’s Mangalagiri sitting MLA Alla Ramakrishhna Reddy has fallen victim to this strategy of Jagan. There are a large number of weavers in Mangalagiri assembly constituency.
Jagan has called Ramakrishna Reddy and told him that this time he should sacrifice the ticket. This will help the party to give at least one ticket to weavers’ community in the state. The sitting MLA did not know what to tell Jagan initially. But he left the final decision to his boss. This has taken the followers of Ramakrishna Reddy by surprise. They have seen how their MLA fought against ruling TDP leaders all these years and spent lot of money.
Political observers say it is one of those late realisations of Jagan to give proper representation to different communities in ticket allotment. It is too early to say whether this will bring good results for YCP. Analysts say a little pressure will be there on TDP if Jagan’s strategy leads to cross-voting by respective communities where their candidates are given YCP tickets.
