The Muzaffarpur shelter home mass rape and torture case is creating tremors in political circles there. A special court ordered the CBI to question even Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to bring out the truth behind the sensational sexual assault case.
The court took serious note of the negligence on the part of senior officials to conduct a free and fair investigation. The case took a serious turn and the focus shifted to CM Nitish as well as one of the accused persons has alleged about the involvement of senior officials and also CM himself having links to the murky goings-on.
The case brought to surface the sexual harassment, rape and torture of over 34 girls at the shelter home where a total of 42 girls were residing. Politicians and officials were involved in this offence. This came to light during a study taken up by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Along with CM, two senior most officials will be questioned by the CBI now.
