Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 2Point0 is one of the eagerly awaited films this year. Directed by Shankar, the science fiction thriller boasts a heavy star cast like Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The shooting was wrapped up long back and the extensive post production activities are nearing completion.

According to the latest reports in Tamil media circles, the first look teaser of this extravaganza will be out on September 13th on the eve of Vinayaka Chaviti. Recently, a making video has went viral in social media and left audience in awe. The first teaser is expected to take the expectations to the next level.

The makers of this big budget flick have already locked the release date as November 10th.

Superstar Rajinikanth wrapped up 2.0 long ago but the film is yet to hit the screens. Shankar is the director and Amy Jackson played the female lead. Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar essayed the role of the lead antagonist. The movie’s release has been pushed several times due to the delay in the VFX work and this delay costed a bomb for the makers.

As per the reports from DNA, the delay in the release of 2.0 is costing Rs 100 crores more for the makers. The makers already spent Rs 400 crores on the film and this extra budget turned out to be a burden for the makers. On the other side, there have been talks that the buyers who bought the film for hefty prices have been pressurizing the makers to return their advance amounts after such a huge delay.

An official announcement on the release date is expected soon. Lyca Productions bankrolled 2.0 and AR Rahman composed the music, background score.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth on Sunday condemned the leak of the “2.0” teaser and called it a “heartless act”.

The teaser of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson-starrer “2.0” was leaked on social media on Sunday morning. The video went viral soon after it surfaced online.

Soundarya took to Twittter to express her disappointment and anger.

“Leaking content online before the official release should not be tolerated or encouraged! This is a heartless act ignoring hard work, efforts and sentiments of the makers for few seconds of excitement! Be ashamed, stop piracy, stop misusing digital medium,” she wrote.

“2.0” will mark the Tamil debut of Akshay and his first film with Rajinikanth. The film also stars Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey.

Directed by Shankar, “2.0” is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot) which also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

In a big surprise, a leaked video snippet of 2Point0 is going viral in social media since today morning.

The 90 second video features hi-tech visuals and breathtaking aerial shots with a glimpse of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. It looks like the makers have intentionally screened it somewhere outside India to capture the attention of International distributors. At the beginning of the video, the title ‘Temp Graphics’ suggests that this not a full length teaser or trailer, but a small cut.

Whatever may be the reason, this video is likely to trigger some buzz on the film despite its repeated postponements.

Shankar requested Rajinikanth to give him a free hand for the prestigious project to get the desired output. Hence Rajini requested Lyca to wait for Shankar to announce the official release date of the film. Lyca Productions bankrolled 2.0 which has been made on a massive budget of Rs 450 crores.
