APCID books case against ABN Radhakrishna!

In a sudden development, the Andhra Pradesh CID has booked a case against ABN-Andhra Jyothy managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna.

The APCID filed FIR against Radhakrishna on Saturday night (yesterday). But the FIR came to light on Sunday evening (today).

The APCID charged Radhakrishna of obstructing CID officials from performing duties during raids on the residence of retired AP IAS officer Laxminarayana.

It may be recalled that APCID conducted raids on Laxminarayana’s residence on Friday morning in Hyderabad in connection with a scam in AP Skill Development Corporation when he was working as director of the corporation during TDP government.

Laxminarayana earlier worked as OSD and secretary in CMO to then AP Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu.

The APCID charged Laxminarayana of Rs 241 crore fraud in the corporation during his tenure.

When searches were going on, Vemuri Radhakrishna visited his house and stayed there for several hours.

Radhakrishna claimed that he visited Laxminarayana’s residence only to console him as he has been his close friend for several decades.

Radhakrishna claimed that he stayed in his house following requests made by Laxminarayana’s family members and he never obstructed APCID officials. He also claimed that APCID officials themselves requested him to stay there as the family members of Laxminarayana cooperated for investigation only after Radhakrishna convinced them.

Radhakrishna questioned why APCID officials booked case after 36-hours if he had obstructed them. This shows, CID officials booked case against him on the orders of AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is resorting to witch-hunting against ABN-Andhra Jyothy group since he became CM in May 2019.

Radhakrishna claimed that APCID officials thanked him for making Laxminarayana and his family members cooperating with them for investigation on Friday but filed case against him later stating that he obstructed investigation.

ABN YouTube channel damaging TDP with absurd titles!

In its over-enthusiasm to support TDP in Andhra Pradesh, the ABN YouTube channel is causing more damage to the TDP than benefitting it.

The channel is using misleading, irrelevant, absurd and ridiculous thumbnails for its videos which are being mocked by netizens on social media platforms thereby causing huge embarrassment to the TDP leadership.

These thumbnails are becoming a laughing stock on social media platforms putting TDP leaders and cadre in a fix.

For instance, the ABN YouTube channel’s videos on TDP chief N.Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Delhi to complain against YSRCP activists attacks on TDP offices, with such thumbnails have become viral and being trolled heavily on social media platforms.

These thumbnails have Telugu captions which say “Simham la adugu pettina Chadrababu” (Chandrababu stepped in Delhi like a lion), “Babu Delhi paryatana pai YCP lo kalavaram” (YCP tensed over Babu’s Delhi tour), “Rastrapathi aagraham, AP lo paalana maare chance” (President angry, likely change in government, indicating that President may dismiss Jagan government), “Delhi lo ugra rupam chupinchina Chandrababu, vadilede le” (Chandrabu exhibits his aggression in Delhi, will not leave this issue”.

The channel flooded such videos with absurd titles and thumbnails which gave enough material for not only netizens to mock at TDP and Chandrababu but also opposition parties.

Even common people feel and question where was the need for ABN YouTube channel to give such a ‘build up’ for Naidu’s Delhi trip.

These videos have also become weapons in the hands of those people who are supporting YSRCP under the guise of journalists.

They took screenshots of these videos and thumbnails and made them viral on social media platforms to attack Chandrababu and TDP.

Even TDP’s social media wing reportedly feels that ABN YouTube channel is indeed more benefitting YSRCP than TDP with these ridiculous videos and titles.

But the ABN management seems to have turned a blind eye to this menace. They seem to be just focused on attracting more hits and more views to earn more revenues out of these videos.

ABN, TV5 approach Supreme Court against AP CID!

ABN-Andhra Jyothy and TV5 news channels have filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court on Monday challenging the sedition case filed by Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (AP CID) against them.

The CID has named these two channels as co-accused in the FIR filed against YSRCP rebel MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju.

The news channels brought to the notice of the Supreme Court that the cases filed against them were ‘politically motivated’.

The news channels stated that the CID booked a false case against them stating that they had telecasted ‘hate speeches’ of MP Raju.

The news channels appealed Supreme Court to quash the FIR registered against them alleging that the cases were deliberately filed on the directions of AP government.

Vijayasai complains to LS Speaker against ABN and Eenadu

The ruling YCP has taken its fight against the media to the Lok Sabha as well. MP Vijayasai Reddy complained to the LS Speaker that the Andhra Jyoti and Eenadu groups have defamed him by giving bad reports on the recent all-party meeting in Delhi. Vijayasai appealed to the Speaker to cancel the entry passes given to ETV, ABN and their respective newspaper reporters. They should be banned from covering the House proceedings. Vijayasai has taken it personally saying that the reports on Amit Shah and Congress MPs getting angry at him were false and highly damaging to his reputation. That incident has given Vijayasai lot of embarrassment within the YCP Parliamentary Party.

In a quick but sarcastic counter, TDP MP Kesineni Nani suggested that Vijayasai ask the Lok Sabha to pass a legislation to ban all the other media except Sakshi TV and newspaper. The TDP is stepping up its counter attacks against YCP on each and every issue nowadays. The TDP has already raised in the Parliament about the issue of YCP Government harassment against the media in AP in the name of GO 2430.

TRAI notices to MSO on ABN ban issue

The ABN channel is still facing an unofficial ban under the Jagan Reddy government. It’s going on despite cautionary advice from the regulatory bodies. Now, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has taken strong objection to ABN Channel being taken out free channels list in the state. Very angry against Jagan Circar’s adamant attitude, the TRAI issued notices to the Multi-System Operator (MSO) to give its explanation within a day on why it removed ABN from free channels list.

AP Government has engaged GN Reddy as its advocate to argue the cases relating to ABN. The regulatory bodies including the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) expressed their disappointment against the AP government’s non-compliance with their orders and instructions. Advocate Reddy is telling the regulatory bodies that ABN signals are being given to viewers, but actually new problems are being created to block the channel somehow.

Jagan gives big blow to ABN Radhakrishna

The previous Chandrababu Naidu government allotted one acre and a half to Amoda Publications in Visakhapatnam city. Andhra Jyothi Managing Director Radhakrishna has not taken up any constructions in this land till now. This prime land is now worth Rs. 40 cr in open market. The Jagan Reddy government has cancelled this land allotment on the plea that there is no public interest in this. Information and Public Relations Minister Perni Nani has announced this already.

The Minister accused the previous TDP Regime of handing over the costly land at just Rs. 50 lakh. The latest decision has given a rude shock to ABN. Already, the YCP government has stopped all kinds of advertisements to Andhra Jyothi ever since it came to power.

On its part, Andhra Jyothi condemned the AP Cabinet decision. It said that the so called land was allotted to it as a compensation for the land taken from it under road widening. The alternative land towards compensation was allotted at Paradesipalem by the then District Collector. Andhra Jyothi is all set to begin a legal struggle against Jagan Circar.

Why ABN Radhakrishna preferred pink over yellow?

ABN Radhakrishna is considered TDP man and often political opponents of Telugu Desam Party call his media as yellow media. However, he recently published and editorial that surprised many people as he was seen criticizing Telugu Desam Party vehemently in that article. The editorial was about TDP going for an alliance with Congress in Telangana state elections. Radha Krishna severely criticized TDP for taking this decision. However after a little investigation the real facts came out on why he did so. 

Actually, Andhra Jyothi Building in Hyderabad is now located in residential area and as per the reports, the building doesn’t have many required permissions. A few years ago, there was a fire accident in that building and it came to notice that the building doesn’t follow  fire safety measures too. Despite not having proper permissions and not following safety measures, Radhakrishna was able to continue his business from that building as he has developed close relations with the ruling party of Telangana.  Moreover, Andhra Jyothi has later started another building in journalist Colony. It was reported that this land also was allotted to Andhra Jyothi by the government earlier. When this land got some legal issues, Radha Krishna was able to resolve all of them because of his proximity with the ruling government. 

So observers pointing out that Radha Krishna has supported TRS party in this editorial as he got all these benefits from that party . In this process, he didn’t hesitate to make severe comments on Telugu Desam Party that considers RK as their all weather friend. His entire article was focused on suggesting TDP not to go for alliance with Congress Party citing several silly reasons. Probably Radhakrishna doesn’t want any alliance or any political development that will disturb prospects of TRS in upcoming elections.

ABN MD Vemuri Radha Krishna lodges a complaint in PS

ABN MD Vemuri Radha Krishna approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police and lodged a complaint against people who are creating fake accounts in the name of ABN News Channel (ABN NC), and Andhra Jyothi newspaper (AJN). He requested the police officials to take stringent actions against those who are publishing fake/false news and using abusive language on Twitter in the name of ABN NC and AJN.

‘They opened a fake account in the name of RK. They are using our logo. By modifying the ‘breaking news’ screenshots, they are replacing original content with highly offensive content’, said Radha Krishna in his complaint.

The media baron once again reinstated that he does not operate any Twitter or Facebook accounts.

It is known that 5 youth was arrested on the charges of damaging ABN Andhra Jyothi vehicle recently near Telugu Film Chamber. After Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan started twitter war on TV9, ABN, and TV5, many Pawan Kalyan followers have been making anti-media comments, targeting TV9 and ABN in particular.

ABN channel is planning an interview with Poonam Kaur and the trailer with the title Punjabi Panja has created lot of tremors in media and political circles. However, as per our sources who have watched it, it is going to be pale and damp squib.

Our sources say, Poonam is talking about her relation and issues with Pawan very very vaguely without any specific details. Actually she didn’t want to do the interview right now. As T360 earlier reported, high level deal still being worked on through a VIP business man. As the deal is still not worked out fully, she wanted to wait for few more days to decide. But ABN Radha Krishna has been hounding her from last few weeks . When she goes to Gurudwara also daily he was sending ABN reporters to talk to her and get details. So finally she obliged and talked for a few minutes.

Everybody in media circles know that she has some explosive information. People who have seen her WhatsApp chat were quite surprised with some of the details. But she is not willing to reveal those details, at least for now. She is not talking about politics too. With her reluctance to reveal details on Pawan and not showing any willingness to talk on politics – interview turned pale. We will have to wait and see how this turns.

Jagan today morning convened a press meet to respond on current political turmoil, arising out of TDP exiting the NDA government. Before the start of his press meet, he embarrassed Andhra Jyothy and ABN reporters while the LIVE is going on in media channels.

Before starting his addressing, Jagan asked the reporters from which media they came. Some of the reporters introduced themselves and told from which media they are coming. Two reporters told, they are from ABN and Andhrajyothy respectively. For this Jagan replied, you two shouldn’t have come to this press meet. Maybe you are not aware, but we have already told very clearly that ABN and Andhrajyothy not to send their reporters to any of his press meets. Jagan added that, there are court cases are going on between him and ABN-Andhra Jyothy as that media is doing all baseless stories on YSRCP. But Jagan told, as you two have come now anyway, it is ok and they can remain in the press meet but next time, make sure not to attend.

Needless to say, Jagan’s comments embarrassed ABN and Andhra Jyothy reporters. Moreover, all of this was telecast in live in all the media channels and viewers who watched this were surprised by this.

The Managing Director of Aamoda Publications Vemuri Radha Krishna in his Sunday editorial noted that Rajdeep Sardesai approached them for starting a Telugu Channel.

In conversation with Telugu360, Rajdeep said, “I don’t remember any definite plan to start a Telugu channel. We were approached for support but no commitment was given”.

While Rajdeep claims that they were approached, on the contrary RK wrote, “He ( Rajdeep ) sent their people to talk to us”.

RK in his editorial noted that former Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy put brakes to the idea at a juncture where the proposal was finalised and contracts were to be signed.

“The Andhra Jyothy MD I think met us once to discuss starting a channel. But I don’t recall the conversations going very far from our end since we were already handling our own channels at the time”, said Rajdeep.

While he did not deny the claims of starting Telugu news channel, there are differences in both the versions of how the events transpired.

Also, Rajdeep denied the claims of meeting or speaking with Pranab Mukherjee or YSR in this context.

Minor alterations tend not to derail the actual events but these nuances are so profoundly strange that the one is left wondering as to what actually happened before ABN commenced operations.

ABN cancels survey broadcast amid backdrop of EC’s ban

Election Commission issued orders to media houses to stop telecasting election surveys in the wake of the Nandyal by-election. Prominent Telugu news channel ABN Andhra Jyothy was all set to broadcast a pre-poll survey on Sunday. Hours before the survey telecast, Banwar Lal issued a ban on surveys and opinion polls.

With the EC’s mandate coming out at the same time, the media house had to cancel its broadcast and informed the viewers about the same.

Mr. Lal said that it is illegal to ask people whom they will vote just before the election. Surveys are causing an hinderance to the concept free and fair elections. EC reportedly received complaints of enticement and harassment in the name of Surveys and Opinion polls. In the backdrop of such complaints lodged with EC, it imposed an immediate ban on surveys.

Mr.Lal warned serious action against any channel that would broadcast surveys. EC said that no surveys and opinion polls should be broadcasted untill the eve of the election day on 23August.
