Telugu OTT platform Aha is telecasting Samantha’s celebrity talk show ‘Sam Jam’ that featured several celebrities like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun and Vijay Devarakonda. Allu Arjun’s episode of Sam Jam will be out this evening on the occasion of New Year. In the recently released promo of this episode, Aha tagged Allu Arjun as Megastar which did not go well with the Mega fans and Tollywood audience. Aha was badly trolled on social media for the post.

Aha now issued an apology and made sure that there is only one Megastar. “We have come this far because you have loved us and we know you won’t stop just because of an unintended error from our end! This is an apology to everyone who has been hurt. It’ the last day of a crazy year. So, let’s forgive, forget and step into 2021 with love, light and laughter!” posted Aha on their official page.

Mega Producer Allu Aravind is leaving no stone unturned for his digital platform Aha. The content on the digital platform received a lukewarm response during the initial days but the recent movies and the shows received a decent response. Allu Aravind and his son Allu Arjun are all set to surprise the audience with some interesting shows in the coming days. Samantha Akkineni already inked a deal with Aha for Sam Jam which started streaming last night.

Allu Arjun announced that four top directors of Telugu cinema: Sukumar, Harish Shankar, Surendar Reddy and Vamshi Paidipally will be teaming up with Aha for four different shows which will start soon. The details about the shows are kept under wraps and some of them already completed shoot. Allu Arjun thanked Vamshi Paidipally for standing as a pillar of support for Aha. The top actor is also listening to scripts and is contributing his best for Aha.

Tollywood film lovers and audience are all excited after Mega producer Allu Aravind announced his digital platform Aha. But leaving many in surprise, the shows and web series failed to live up the expectations. Most of them lacked interesting content and they received poor response. Aha even could not withstand before the wave of Amazon Prime and Netflix. Aha did not acquire the streaming rights of any renowned Telugu film till date.

The statistics remained low during the early months after Aha started serving the Tollywood audience. With the coronavirus pandemic restricting everyone at their homes, Aha could get a decent number of subscriptions. The statistics are comparatively better than after the launch but Aha needs to go a long way to emerge as a strong competitor in the Indian market. Aha also dubbed several regional South films in the recent weeks and the response has been decent. Allu Aravind is keen to acquire the digital rights of several films and he is holding talks currently.

Mega Producer Allu Aravind has been sweating out for his digital platform Aha. The shows received a mixed response after which Allu Aravind started approaching top directors for projects. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmita is all set to make her debut as a producer with a web series. Mega fans and Tollywood circles assumed that the web series which is a crime thriller will release on Allu Aravind’s digital platform Aha.

But leaving many in shock and surprise, Mega daughter inked a deal with Zee5. Oy fame Anand Ranga is the director and the shoot of this web series started recently in Hyderabad following all the social distancing guidelines. Goldbox Entertainment are the producers and Exchange of Fire is the title considered. Prakash Raj and Sampath Raj will be seen in the lead roles in this investigative cop drama.

Allu Aravind acquired the digital rights of ‘Bhanumathi and Ramakrishna’. The film released recently and received a positive response and Aha got the much-needed boost. Allu Aravind watched a small film titled ‘Johaar’ recently and he was impressed. Aha acquired the digital streaming rights of the film and it would be released soon. The promotional activities will kickstart soon.

Teja Marni is the director and Ankith, Esther, Naina Ganguly played the lead roles in Johaar. Allu Aravind is also in talks with several other filmmakers to release their films on Aha. Along with these, Aha is producing a bunch of web-based projects which will start shooting soon. The released web-series on Aha received a mixed response from the audience.

Tollywood producers are left shattered because of the coronavirus pandemic. The big films cannot be released on digital platforms as the offered digital quotes are no matching to the budgets. So, most of the producers are waiting for the theatres to be reopened. But this is a golden time for small movies. The digital platforms too are focused on acquiring the rights of small budget films so that they would have enough content for release in the coming weeks. There are several films that completed the censor formalities but could not release in theatres.

The OTT platforms are now in the hunt for such projects which are struggling for release. OTT players like Aha are closing the deals on ‘Pay per View’ basis or on 50-50 basis. They are not bothered about the casting and the buzz. They are keen on releasing decent films through their digital platforms as the audience are waiting for new releases every week. As per the update, Aha acquired the digital rights of 20 small films which will be aired in the coming weeks. They will be releasing most of the films on Pay per View basis. Aha fixed a price per view and will pay the producers as per the total views that the film gets.

This would benefit both the digital platforms and the production houses. Aha and Zee5 will release several small films soon.
