Chandrababu under pressure not to give ticket to minister

0

A strong and separate group was formed within the ruling TDP to work against Minister Jawahar in the coming elections. The rival group demands that this time TDP ticket should not be given to Jawahar as he is totally corrupt and has not taken care of the party cadres. But the Minister cleverly made his group of followers take out a rally from Kovvur to Amaravati and place their demand for giving ticket to the Minister once again.

The rival group has also taken out another rally and met with CM Chandrababu Naidu demanding that ticket should not be given to Jawahar. The rival group is led by big leaders from Kovvur town including its former municipal chairman. These incidents have become a big irritant for the TDP leadership in West Godavari district. The party is analysing whether it would be possible for Jawahar to win the election even if the rival group works against his candidature.

As it is, the political situation in Godavari districts has become highly competitive. This is because of the presence of TDP, YCP and Jana Sena as well. The respective parties are carefully selecting candidates with maximum winning chances. In such a scenario, the TDP is expected not to take a hasty decision whether to give or not to give ticket to Jawahar.

Jagan to finally run party affairs from Amaravati

0

After five years, Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy has formally got his own party central office at Tadepalli in Amaravati. All these years, YCP leaders had to run to Jagan residence cum office at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad. Jagan along with his family members held house warming function at Amaravati now.

The YCP leaders are expecting that at least now on they need not go all the way to Telangana to meet Jagan and other state level leaders. TDP leaders mocked at Jagan running his party activities from Hyderabad for so long. They accused Jagan of using Hyderabad as a safe and convenient place for him to coordinate with his secret allies KCR and BJP leaders there.

Political circles are full of speculation that Jagan’s shifting to Amaravati will increase political temperature ahead of elections. Already, YCP leaders and cadres are rushing to Jagan Tadepalli office.

Will airstrikes help BJP gain ground in Telugu states?

0

Hyderabad: The latest airstrikes carried out by Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday have not only cheered the nation, but also boosted the morale of BJP, which is bad shape in both the Telugu states. Definitely, it’ll brighten the prospects for BJP in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, observes a senior saffron party leader, while political analysts feel that “chances are brighter that airstrikes will outweigh local issues, but to what extent BJP can pick up, one has to wait and see.”

The positive impact of Tuesday’s airstrikes on Pakistan may comfortably last until Lok Sabha elections reasonably enough for BJP to gain on this ground. It may be recalled that after winning encouragingly in 2014 elections, BJP lost in subsequent Assembly polls in New Delhi and Bihar. However, after surgical strikes on Pakistan in September 2016, BJP significantly recovered and won all Assembly elections held in 2017 and 2018. However, as the local and administrative issues started with fading impact of surgical strikes, BJP lost in Assembly elections in five states and Telangana was one of them.

BJP had five MLAs in the first term of Telangana Assembly and the number dropped to one in the just concluded elections in December 2018 as only Raja Singh won in Goshamahal Assembly constituency. BJP has on MP from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency i.e. Bandaru Dattatreya.

“Regardless of local issues, all the Indians have arrived to a conclusion that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can send a befitting answer to Pakistan and terrorist groups, who’re against India. However, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has succeeded in holding BJP as major reason for not awarding special status to AP. whether airstrikes east out the anti-BJP wave in AP, let’s wait and see. Coming to Telangana, BJP may retain Secunderabad seat in addition to winning one or two, if the airstrikes herald nationalism strongly, ” said the analyst.

YCP is a party of palaces – Chandrababu on Jagan

0

Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy has finally got his own residence cum party office at Tadepalli near Amaravati Capital city. This came in a big plot with grand construction. CM Chandrababu Naidu said Jagan now has got one more palace in his kitty.

This is in addition to the already existing huge buildings of Jagan in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pulivendula. Sharpening his attack, Chandrababu said going by Jagan’s constructions, the YCP should stop making claims of being a pro-poor party. It’s clearly a party of palaces. The voters of AP will no longer trust this kind of double standards.

Jagan’s residential buildings are always a subject of intense controversies in Telugu states. Especially his multi-storeyed buildings with hundreds of rooms in Bangalore and Hyderabad are food for rumours. Naturally, Chandrababu attacks Jagan on this aspect at every given chance.

Welfare, Sentiment and Development – TDP’s success mantra

0

TDP chief and CM Chandrababu Naidu took an upper hand over Jaganmohan Reddy, KCR and Modi with the help of a balanced approach. The positive intelligence reports on ground level political situation say that ‘welfare, sentiment and development’ are the three mantras for success of TDP in the 2019 election. Analysts say Naidu is always known for his constant and uninterrupted focus on development aspect. But there used to be complaints in the past he was neglected welfare sector on a par with industry and development.

Ever since 2014 election, Chandrababu has placed a special focus on welfare as well. Especially, in the recent months, TDP chief came out with new welfare schemes that got bigger response from women and old aged beneficiaries. They are now vocal supporters of TDP in villages. Naidu’s promise on hike in pensions and unemployment allowance have also become a greater attraction among the masses.

Intelligence reports say that the provocative statements by KCR, KTR and other Telangana leaders have created a new sentiment among AP people. They are feeling greatly offended and this sentiment is going to add voting percentage significantly to TDP.

TDP will win 135 in 175-member Assembly – intelligence reports

9

AP elections in 2019 are keenly awaited by political circles all over the country. The reason for this is it has turned out to be almost like a one-to-one battle between PM Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP cadres are in a joyful mood now. There is news of intelligence reports that are submitted to the CM. The reports say that the ground level surveys have showed that the TDP will win 135 seats in the 175-member Assembly.

The reports indicated that the pensions and other welfare measures have totally changed villages altogether in rural areas. They are now unilaterally favouring Naidu’s leadership. The political scenario has undergone a dramatic change in the past few weeks. The beneficiaries of pensions and other schemes have almost passed resolutions to support TDP and bring back Chandrababu Naidu as CM again.

On the other hand, the bitter comments of Telangana leaders against TDP have hurt the feelings of AP people. There is a perception that YCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy is bringing outsiders especially Telangana leaders to AP. This has hurt the self-respect sentiment of AP voters ahead of elections.

Ex MP Magunta in dilemma on joining YCP

0

YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy is giving many last-minute surprises. There are rumours that he will not give ticket to his close relative YV Subba Reddy to contest again from Ongole parliamentary seat in 2019 election. This time, Jagan is wanting to field Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy who is presently with the TDP and is an MLC now.

Ongole ex MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy is having differences with YV Subba Reddy for a long time. His followers are spreading rumours that YV will not be given ticket again in Ongole. This is why Magunta will be taken into the party to give him Ongole MP ticket. As part of this arrangement, YV will be given some state level responsibility in the party.

To counter this, YV Subba Reddy spread rumours that Magunta will be given Nellore MP ticket. So there’s no danger to YV chances in Ongole. Then there’s one more problem. Where will Jagan accommodate Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy who won in Nellore MP seat in 2014? Answers to these will be known only when Jagan returns from London visit.

Will cine actor Ali contest from Guntur?

0

Hyderabad: Cine actor Ali may contest on TDP ticket mostly from Guntur Assembly constituency. With Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu assuring MLA ticket to Ali if he intends to enter politics.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is considering a proposal of fielding minority candidate as Madhali Giridhar on TDP ticket lost in Guntur Assembly elections. SM Ziauddin from TDP won two times in Guntur Assembly constituency against Congress candidate Mohmad Johny. But, TDP lost its grip over the Guntur constituency since 2005, when Congress candidate Sheik Subhani won it. Since Ziauddin lost in 2009 elections, TDP fielded non-minority candidate Madhali Giridhar in 2014 elections.

Until 2014 elections, voters in two constituencies in Guntur city supported only one party. But, in 2014 elections, Modugula Venugopala Reddy on TDP ticket won in Guntur West constituency, while YSRCP candidate Mohmad Mustafa won Guntur East constituency. Minority voters are in majority in Guntur East constituency and TDP wants to field minority candidate. Hence, it’s keen on Ali, said a senior leader.

TDP supremo Naidu is also in favour of Ali for Guntur East constituency. Naidu is scheduled to meet on Guntur Parliamentary constituency on Monday and Tuesday. This meeting may give clarity over potential candidates.

Ali is a close associate of Pawan Kalyan and speculation was rife over his possible contest on Jana Sena. Ali’s recent meeting with YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy also triggered speculation over his joining the party.

Kia Motors plant set to transform backward Anantapur district

0

South Korean automobile giant Kia Motors’ plant is set to transform Anantapur, one of the country’s most backward districts.

The sprawling plant, which has come up over 536 acres of land in Erramanchi village in a span of just 14 months, is changing the landscape of Anantapur, one of the four districts in the backward Rayalaseema region.

In a region with one of the lowest rainfall in the country and once notorious for brutal killings by rival groups fighting for supremacy, the plant, which began trial production on January 30, has come as a breath of fresh air.

Located just 125 km from Bengaluru airport, the plant has come up with an investment of $1 billion dollars while an equal amount pumped in by ancillaries. It is billed as one of the biggest Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in India in the automobile sector.

Kia Motors, the world’s eighth-largest automaker, plans to manufacture 300,000 cars at this plant every year. The commercial production will start after July with SP2i, a SUV based on the Kia SP Concept, first showcased at India’s Auto Expo 2018.

With over 3,000 direct and 7,000 indirect jobs, Kia will become the single largest employer in the drought-prone region. The ancillaries, including 18 South Korean companies, are expected to provide an additional 5,000 jobs.

Officials say the Korean township and other supporting infrastructure would generate more employment for locals.

The Kia plant houses a five-acre training facility that offers a Basic Technical Course (BTC) in automobiles in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corp (APSSDC), helping develop manufacturing skills among young people, 400 of whom have been selected in the first batch.

“The plant is a great boon for the region in terms of employment, investment and in terms of creating confidence among young people. People used to say that since the region is not endowed with resources, there can’t be development here but it has great human resources which need to be trained properly,” K. Lakshminarayana, Director, APSSDC, told IANS.

He pointed out that APSKDC helping Kia in getting the students recruited and trained in Siemens Centre of Excellence at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur. Siemens Centre of Excellence has 14 labs to train students in emerging technologies.

With a Korean township, hostels and hotels coming up in the area, students are also learning Korean and other foreign languages. The Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, is providing a Korean language course, while the Rayalaseema Development Trust is also training local youth in foreign languages, including Korean and French.

Officials believe the eco-system will also give a fillip to micro, small and medium enterprise and turn Rayalaseema often termed as ‘Ralla Seema’ or land of stones due to recurrent droughts into ‘Ratnala Seema’ or land of diamonds.

Blow after blow for TDP Minister Somireddy

0

TDP Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy is facing a tough time in his Sarvepalli assembly segment in Nellore district. One by one, his family members and followers are leaving him. Latest instance is his brother Somireddy Sudhakar Reddy who joined the YCP party. Sometime ago, his brother in law Ramakota Reddy joined Jagan party.

The political circles in Nellore district are full of rumours that this time also, Chandramohan Reddy will face a very difficult election in Sarvepalli segment. In 2014, he was defeated by YCP leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy. This time again, YCP is trying to gain an upper hand by winning over anti-Chandramohan Reddy groups within the TDP.

Observers say it’s not going to be an easy task for Chandramohan Reddy to overcome the problems created by his own brother leaving his side. Though Chandramohan Reddy lost 2014 poll, he was given MLC post and later ministry.

Jagan’s secret deals – Calculated risks?

1

YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy is moving closer to KCR and Modi. He is doing it despite knowing their negative impact on YCP’s poll prospects. Analysts say Jagan has everything to gain personally if he maintains friendly relations with the BJP and the TRS. He has to save himself from the illegal assets cases in the CBI and also protect his properties in Hyderabad.

Jagan was literally scared and totally afraid whether the Congress party would come to power in 2018 Telangana polls. Luckily for him, KCR won the election and there was no danger to Jagan’s properties in Hyderabad. Moreover, KCR is now lobbying with greater force for Jaganmohan Reddy in Delhi. Questions are being asked why there’s no progress in the CBI cases. After TDP distanced from BJP, the CBI cases investigation slowed down considerably.

There’s a new concern among certain sections of his own followers that Jagan is only interested in his personal safety and security in the face of cases. The YCP’s development as a party is only secondary for him. Such feelings are becoming a real challenge for YCP leaders.

Brahmins’ prayers for ‘Chandrababu again as CM’

0

The politics between different groups among Brahmin associations got special focus ahead of general election in AP. It may be recalled retired IAS IYR Krishna Rao served as chairman of Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation. He could not continue in the post for long as some Brahmin leaders opposed his style of functioning. Eventually, Vemuri Ananda Surya became the chairman and new leaders took over as members.

Ever since, Ananda Surya along with other Brahmin leaders are taking up novel programmes. Now they took joined the campaign of ‘Chandrababu again as CM’ being held all over the state. Flexis and posters are coming up everywhere with this slogan ‘You should come again’ addressing Naidu. Nos Brahmin leaders are visiting temples and offering prayers for the divine blessings for Naidu to come back again as CM.

This has led to increased differences among the Brahmin associations. Some of them are targetting Ananda Surya for taking away benefits only to pro-TDP activists. There is also pressure on Ananda Sury and pro-TDP leaders to shift their loyalties. It is well known Prashant Kishore has taken over as media adviser to Jagan. He is also using influence among Brahmin sections to favour YCP.

A vote for Jagan is a vote for Modi and KCR, says Chandrababu

0

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu cautioned the people against voting for Jaganmohan Reddy as he is acting against the interests of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu says that a vote for Jagan is a vote for Modi and KCR who are crushing AP in every way possible. AP CM held a tele conference with party leaders. He called upon the party leaders and cadres to expose the secret deals between the YCP, BJP and TRS among the people.

It is only after the TDP was formed that the Telugu people have got self-respect not only in India but across the world. TDP founder NTR fought back the conspiracies of Central leaders in those days. Naidu said that similar efforts should be made now in order to stop the Modi government from hurting AP any further. His call to the people is to defeat all those parties that have done injustice to the state.
Naidu said it would not be acceptable to the TDP if PM Modi wants to visit AP only to criticise the TDP government. It would not be tolerated any more and Modi should explain why his government did injustice with regard to special status, financial assistance to backward regions and so forth, Naidu said.

No takers for BJP MLA tickets – Party image at its lowest

0

Till a few weeks ago, one Dr. Shanta Rao showed lot of interest to contest on the BJP ticket in Palasa assembly segment in Srikakulam district. The district party unit conveyed the same to the party state leadership. But now things took a dramatic turn as Dr. Shanta Rao is no longer interested in this. The reasons are obvious. He found out in his personal surveys that there would be no chance to get bare minimum votes, leave alone deposits.

With this, the BJP leaders are left in a state of shock. They don’t know that their party’s image has taken such a severe beating among AP people. The situation is no better in most assembly segments in the state. Even the Lok Sabha constituencies are also giving a tough time. In the absence of strong aspirants, the BJP state leaders are not able to begin the ticket allotment exercise till now. Worse still, things are getting worse with each passing day.

There is a feeling within the BJP that their campaign style has not yielded any good results so far. The AP people are not believing their leaders’ arguments that the Modi government has fulfilled majority promises of reorganisation. It is also too late for the BJP to change its strategy and renew their attack on rivals.

Rahul hits hard at Modi on special status to AP

0

AICC President Rahul Gandhi arrived and addressed the Congress Bharosa Bus Yatra at temple town of Tirupati. Rahul talked about the joint decision taken by all parties in the Parliament for giving special status to Andhra Pradesh. Ex PM Manmohan Singh made a promise to confer the special status on AP.

When a prime minister gave a commitment, it means every Indian has given that commitment. Rahul asked the Modi government why it neglected such an important commitment. He asserted that nobody can stop this to AP after the Congress party comes to power in 2019 election.

Rahul hit hard at PM Modi saying that he made many promises to AP from his Tirupati public meeting at the time of 2014 general election. Modi promised special status, jobs and prices to farmers but he did not fulfill any of them. Rahul assured the AP people that this time they would certainly get the status and their dreams would be fulfilled.

TDP leader warns about contesting as an independent

0

TDP leaders Kannekanti Jeevarathnam, Narvaneni Murali and Velpula Ramesh expressed their concerns about being treated unfairly even though they worked hard for the party. While speaking to the media on Thursday, said leaders protested the party giving MLA ticket to Tangirala Sowmya.

Murali stated that he is facing some difficulties with some party leaders. Murali also expressed his concern on some of the party leaders supporting those who accused him with false allegations. Velpula Ramesh alleged that local leaders including the MLA acted inappropriately with his wife Prasanthi who worked as an MPP of Kanchikacharla.

Talking about his life since the beginning of the party, Kannekanti Jeevaratnam said he was disappointed with the way the Party treated him. Kannekanti claimed that he had hoped for a ticket in the last elections but he was set aside by the party after saying that he would be given priority. Kannekanti said that he was disappointed with the announcement of Tangirala Sowmya as the candidate for Nandigama Assembly seat. Kannekanti also warned that if he is not given the ticket, he will contest as an independent candidate. Many leaders and activists supported him and want the party to give the ticket to Kannekanti.

Morphed hate video of TDP MLA – a new low in politics

0

The political rivalry between the ruling TDP and the opposition YCP leaders has touched the lowest level in West Godavari district. Rival leaders created a morphed hate video of Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s speech allegedly insulting Dalits and weaker sections. Not stopping at that, the YCP leaders instigated and provoked dalit organisations to take out protest demonstration all over the district.

Everybody thought it would cool down but things generated more political heat than ever before. It forced the MLA to make a formal complaint to the police, who promptly investigated into the case. One Kathula Ravi was eventually arrested on the charges of resorting to the video morphing. This was done with a premeditated plan to push Chintamaneni Prabhakar and the TDP into a serious disadvantageous position ahead of the general election.

Analysts look at this morphed hate video as a new low in AP politics. The YCP leaders are selecting controversial leaders in the TDP to spread such false information so as to attract wide attention. The TDP has gone into a defensive mode. Telugu Yuvatha President Devineni Avinash said the rivals used copy and paste techniques to upset Chintamaneni but such tactics will not yield any positive result.
