Ashwani Dutt Responds To Nandi Awards Controversy

Tollywood is left disappointed with the Andhra Pradesh government as the state is not recognizing the films with any sort of awards like the Nandi Awards. May 31st on account of Superstar Krishna’s birth anniversary celebrations, Krishna’s landmark film Mosagallaki Mosagadu is going to have a re-release. On this occasion, Ashwani Dutt addressed a press conference.

Ashwani Dutt is unhappy with the Andhra Pradesh government for not organizing an award distribution ceremony. He expressed his wish of having an awards ceremony in the next coming government in Andhra Pradesh. There was also discussion on Krisha being honoured with Dada Sahed Award. Krishna’s brother Adisekhar Rao cleared they are not going to give any sort of letter to the government to consider the request and as a remembrance of Krishna, they are arranging a museum at Padmalaya Studios.

A recent meeting of the Active Telugu Film Producers’ Guild, which is led by star producer Dil Raju, decided to halt film production from August 1 until a solution is found. ‘Project K’ producer Ashwini Dutt, who has been reluctant to listen to the Dil Raju-led Producer’s Guild, has spoken on the same.

The majority of Telugu producers support Dil Raju regarding the shooting strike, but Ashwini Dutt has chosen to take a different route. Ashwini claimed recently in a media interview that Dil Raju is the one who perplexes audiences with his gimmicks. “He will first increase ticket prices before promoting the film at a reduced price”, Ashwini said.

“We won’t halt any filming, and our projects won’t follow Dil Raju’s regulations. We’ll keep shooting”, he continued. Ashwini is currently preoccupied with the ‘Project K’ production, one of the biggest Indian movies starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.

Ashwini Dutt had also spoken about ‘Project K’ on the occasion.

Tollywood media speculated that Deepika Padukone has been unwell on the sets of Project K and she was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad. The rumors also told that Prabhas called off the shoot and the movie unit was given a break for a week so that Deepika Padukone recovers well and returns back to the sets. Ashwini Dutt, the producer of Project K responded to the speculations and revealed about Deepika Padukone’s health. He said that Deepika Padukone is doing extremely fine and the actress returned back to the sets in an hour after her health checkup was completed. There is no delay in the shoot and the schedule is happening as per the plan.

“Some combination scenes on Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are shot currently. Deepika was unwell and she was taken to the hospital. After completing her health check-up, the actress is back on the set. She did not want an actor like Amitabh Bachchan to sit idle on the sets. Deepika Padukone is doing extremely fine and she had fluctuations in her BP. The shoot is happening as per the plan” told Ashwini Dutt. Project K is directed by Nag Ashwin and the film is expected to release by the end of 2023. Vyjayanthi Movies are producing this big-budget film.

AP High Court tells Govt to abide by Aswini Dutt deal

Noted Telugu Film Producer Aswini Dut is making an unrelenting legal battle against the Jaganmohan Reddy Government on the issue of his Gannavaram lands. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has taken up hearing on his petition for a suitable compensation for his lands. Aswini Dut’s lawyer has told the court that alternative land given in Amaravati Capital is unacceptable to them since the Government is shifting the Executive Capital out of Amaravati. In such a case, Aswini Dut would have to lose heavily because of his gesture to hand over his Gannavaram lands for the airport expansion.

After hearing both sides, the High Court told the Government that it would have to abide by the agreement signed with Mr. Dut at the time of land acquisition. As per the agreement, the director should be given compensatory land in Amaravati Capital. But, after the change in the Government, Amaravati is not going to be the one and only Capital. Moreover, Executive Capital, which is the real Capital, will be shifted to Visakhapatnam. In such a scenario, Amaravati lands would not have any value. Hence, it would amount to breach of trust on the part of the Government.

The Government asked for some time to file its counter. Making it clear that the agreements cannot be breached, the court postponed the hearing for November 17.
Legal circles say that the court would express similar opinions in respect of the 29,000 farmers who gaver their ancestral lands for Amaravati construction. Obviously, the Jagan regime would have to face a series of historic legal battles before it can shift Capital out of Amaravati.

He commented, Chiranjeevi should learn from Pawan Kalyan who is supporting farmers. He also commented that Chiranjeevi should understand that the concept of multiple capitals has failed everywhere else. It is known news that both Ashwini Dutt and Chiranjeevi made several movies together and many of them were blockbusters. It is known news that he also gave lands for Gannavaram airport expansion. They call young talents, use them, take their ideas, and when someone asks about payment, they broadcast their dad’s rich legacy and how that could help these young talents grow in the industry.

As they are working on director Nag Ashwin’s (he is Ashwin Dutt’s second daughter’s husband) new project, they are said to be inviting visual artists, writers and costume designers to work with them. But to all those who step in, they are said to be asking them to treat it as a life-changing opportunity but not a pocket filling one.

Upset with this unethical treatment, many youngsters walk out of their projects, is what people in the know have revealed.

Mahesh Babu’s legal action on Ashwini Dutt?

Veteran producer Ashwini Dutt produced several classics in Telugu cinema on his Vyjayanthi Movies banner and has decades of experience. Superstar Mahesh Babu promised to do a film with Ashwini Dutt after the failure of Sainikudu and he wrapped up his commitment through Maharshi which is co-produced by Dil Raju and PVP along with Ashwini Dutt. Dil Raju took the production responsibility of Maharshi and Ashwini Dutt, PVP just invested their part and will share the profits of Maharshi.

Differences cropped out after Ashwini Dutt wanted to hold Krishna district distribution rights though a clear contract was written that Dil Raju will handle the distribution responsibilities. This disturbed the entire team of Maharshi and Mahesh Babu decided not to work with Ashwini Dutt in the future again. There are even talks that Mahesh Babu and Dil Raju are in plans to initiate legal action if the issue doesn’t sort out soon.

Veteran producer officially confirms crazy multi-starrer

News regarding a multi-starrer film featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Nani came out a few weeks back. Nagarjuna, during his promotions for RGG2, has ended all speculations and officially clarified that the project is happening. Sri Ram Aditya, who directed Bhale Manchi Roju and Shamanthakamani, will helm this interesting multi-starrer.

As per an announcement, this crazy project will be backed by veteran producer Ashwini Dutt under his renowned Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The regular shooting will commence from the last week of January next year. Reports suggest that the film will be a slapstick comedy with plenty of twists and thrills. The remaining cast and crew will be announced very soon.

Nani is currently busy with MCA and Nagarjuna will soon commence RGV’s film. So, the duo will join the sets of this untitled film after wrapping up the current commitments.

With a senior producer like Ashwini Dutt making ‘Mahanati’, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri, there is an undying curiosity among movie loves over who would essay the characters of NTR and ANR. The name of NTR Jr was vehemently doing rounds to essay his grandfather’s character until the makers have recently denied this speculation.

In spite of Dutt’s request, NTR has been adamant about his decision. As Dutt couldn’t find any other actor who can do justice to Sr NTR’s role, he has decided to wait till the very end of filming for the Young Tiger to change his mind.
