Superb season: Summer of career bests

This summer season seems to be very superb for Tollywood as it gave career best moments for the stars, directors and production banners.

Tollywood kick-started this summer with Rangasthalam that not only became biggest hit in the career of Ram Charan, Sukumar and Mythri makers, it also transformed Ram Charan into ’s career as it into very good actor from a regular star. It also redefined Sukumar’s image from ‘overseas’ director into director of all classes as he got his biggest hit in ‘B’, ‘C’ centers till date. Mythri’s first hattrick made them most sought after production house in Tollywood.

Next big movie Bharat Ane Nenu continued the up-trend and went on to become one of the biggest hits in career of Mahesh Babu and made Koratala Siva most sought after director in Tollywood. Next big movie that was released is Allu Arjun “Naa Peru Surya” that is not a hit at box office, but it brought out Allu Arjun’s career best performance as military person.

Then, Mahanati movie, that was released couple of days back turns out to be the biggest classic hit in the career of Vyjayanthi movies banner. Ashwini Dutt used to tell that even though he made great commercial hits with Chiranjeevi and NTR, he was never able to make a movie that is on par with classic like Shankarabaranam. Ashwini Dutt this is now an elated man he got such a classic hit in the form of Mahanati. This is the first biggest hit for the banner after his daughters took over the production and so it is even more memorable for him as a father.

Heroine Samantha to tweeted recently that – this is the happiest season in her career as she got hattrick hits as well as great applause for her roles. She got hattrick with Rangasthalam, Mahanati and Irumbu Thirai. All the three movies are commercial hits as well as brought her good name.

Finally, Keerthi Suresh got her career best performance this summer as her reprisal of Savithri role bringing her accolades from so many great actors as well as the audience. Probably she will be remembered for this role for years to come.

Overall, this has been a superb summer for Tollywood!

Will BAN be better than Shekhar Kammula’s Leader ?

It is very common in industry to compare movies of same genre and debating which one is or which one will be better. When “Indra” movie was about to release, people were debating how would be Chiranjeevi doing compared to Samara Simha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu. Main reason was both are faction movies and both the heroes have similar mass following. Now, similar debate happened with Mahesh’s Bharath Anu Nenu (BAN) and Shekhar’s Leader movie.

Recently released #SSMB FIRST OATH (one minute audio clip) presents the oath taking ceremony of Bharat ( Mahesh Babu) who swears in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh . So, with Mahesh Babu confirming the movie will be a political thriller, he portraying CM role, comparison with Leader movie started and people started replying to Mahesh Babu’s old tweet of 2010 about Leader movie. In that tweet, he mentioned, –

We have very less movies in which hero plays Chief minister role in Telugu. In Muthamesthri movie, Chiranjeevi played role of minister but not CM. So anyway comparison will be there between the two movies (Leader and BAN) in which heroes played CM roles. However comparison may just end there. Mainly because the taking of these directors is completely different. Moreover, while Leader has a debutante as hero, BAN has a super star donning the CM role. Shekhar focused more on emotions, while Koratala is expected to capture mass elements that can give goosebumps in a political thriller-action movie.

Anyway, we will have to wait and see, how BAN will be and which movie will be better (not in terms of openings or collections, but in terms of content) in comparison.

Superstar Mahesh Babu reunited with Srimanthudu fame Koratala Siva for an interesting political thriller titled as Bharat Anu Nenu. Mahesh will be seen as a Chief Minister in this film which is getting ready to hit the screens in Summer next year.

After a short gap, the unit will resume shooting in Hyderabad for a brief schedule which will conclude on December 7th. The team will then head to Tamil Nadu to shoot for two weeks in Karaikudi. With these two schedules, majority of the talkie part will be wrapped up.

Bollywood actress Kiara Advani is the heroine and DVV Danayya is bankrolling the film.

It is well known that the producers of Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya have officially confirmed that the films will release on April 27th.

Yesterday, we reported that producers of both these films met to discuss about the clash. Here is what actually transpired in the meeting.

It was Danayya who first called Bunny Vas and arranged the meeting to discuss about the issue. Danayya said he wasn’t aware of Naa Peru Surya release date while formally announcing the release date of Bharat Ane Nenu. He then requested Bunny Vas and team to make for Bharat Ane Nenu.

However, NPS team is adamant to change the release date as they locked it on the day the film was announced. Bunny Vas told his co-producers that they are not going to back out from the date at any cost. But, they didn’t directly inform Danayya about this and instead said that they will discuss it with Allu Aravind and take a call on the release date.

NPS team thinks there is no reason why they should alter the release date as Danayya deliberately announced their date assuming that everyone will be making way for Bharat Ane Nenu. Also Bunny Vasu reportedly told his close allies that if BAN postpones the date they have a exit reason. But they can’t move the date at any cost since the fans and media might project it as a pusillanimous move.

Going by the intentions of Bunny Vas and team, it looks like NPS is likely to release on April 27th. However, it remains to be seen if Bharat Ane Nenu alters its release date.

Allu Arjun’s producer confirms it’s BAN vs NPS

Stylish star Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya was announced to hit the screens on April 27th 2018 on the day when it went on floors. However, when the makers of Mahesh Babu’s undershoot film Bharat Anu Nenu have locked the same date and made an official announcement recently, there were speculations in the media that Naa Peru Surya might be pushed to a later date in order to avert box office clash.

But, it looks like the box office tussle is inevitable on April 27th. Bunny Vas, one of the close associates of Geetha Arts and a co-producer of Naa Peru Surya, has reiterated that there is no change in the film’s release date. While interacting with media in Hyderabad, he made an official statement that Naa Peru Surya will hit the screens on April 27th.

So, it looks the makers of both these films have decided to go ahead with their promise to audience and release the films on the same date.

Let’s wait and see if one of these producers rethink and allow some breathing space for their films to perform or else they stick to their statements and lock horns at the box office on the same date.

Stylish star Allu Arjun is currently doing the movie “Naa Peru Surya” in the direction of writer Vakkantham Vamshi. Release date announced to be on 27th April 2018 on the day when shoot began in August 2016. Usually in industry there is a tradition if any big hero announce the date others won’t announce same date unless it’s a Dussehra or Pongal or any other big festival that can accommodate more movies. But Mahesh & team appears to be ignored unwritten rule.

Mahesh- Koratala movie Bharat Anu Nenu (BAN ) was supposed to be released during Pongal 2018. But they could not finish the movie due to various reasons. So now they planned release of BAN also on April 27 date and Allu Arjun booked that date long back.

Bunny camp is determined to stick to Apr 27 as they planned that date long back and they are progressing as per the planned schedule. Moreover, there have been instances in the industry where one camp changed the date of their release after discussions. But it is surprising to see BAN team did not explore the option of any such discussions before announcing their release date.

Anyway it would interesting to watch how the fight for screening theatres ends and who emerge winner at box office.

Superstar Mahesh Babu who took a small break returned back to the sets of his next film Bharat anu Nenu helmed by Koratala Siva. The film is said to be a political thriller and it wrapped up two major schedules. A high quality image of Mahesh’s look from the film along with couple of pictures from the location have been making rounds across the internet which did not go well with the makers. Koratala Siva took twitter and pledged everyone not to circulate such leaked images.

Now the makers are extra cautious on the sets and tightened the security during the shoot. No visitors are being allowed to poke in to the sets and a set of new bouncers have been roped in. Mahesh too asked the makers to take special care about the security aspects and a massive Assembly set has been erected in Annapurna Studios where some crucial episodes are canned.

He is currently on a vacation with his family. The makers have decided to defer the foreign schedule to a later date due to various reasons.

The shooting will resume in Hyderabad from tomorrow. Few scenes involving the principal cast will be canned in the specially erected assembly set. Mahesh will join the sets once he returns from tour. The film was supposed to hit the screens for Sankranthi, but it is now learnt that the makers are keen on releasing it in Summer.

Mahesh’s next denied permissions in Lucknow

Superstar Mahesh teamed up with Koratala Siva and the movie’s shoot has been planned in Lucknow till the end of this month. Titled Bharat anu Nenu, Mahesh will be essaying the role of a Chief Minister in the film. However the movie unit returned back to Hyderabad early as the movie unit has been denied permissions by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). Some of the episodes have been planned to be shot in Moosabagh, Jahangirabad Palace however most of the permissions have been denied.

Though some of them have been approved, ASI kept lot of restrictions after which Koratala Siva decided to hunt for alternate locales so that they can shoot for the action episodes without any restrictions. ASI officials too revealed that shooting for an action episode at historic monuments is not something easy and they have several guidelines to be followed.

The next schedule will take place in Hyderabad from next month and Mahesh along with the team of Spyder will fly to Romania to shoot for the last song from August 23rd. Kiara Advani is the female lead in Bharat anu Nenu and Prakashraj will be seen in a crucial role.
