GVL and Kanna meet CEO – role of ‘A team’?

0

BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao and party AP President Kanna Laxminarayana met Chief Electoral Officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi at AP Secretariat. This was in response to CM Chandrababu Naidu’s protest earlier. The BJP leaders obviously filled the gap that was caused because of the relatively weakened campaign of the YCP. The TDP was on an offensive from the beginning and also on the no-campaign day today.

GVL and Kanna complained to CEO that it was the TDP which was blackmailing all the national institutions not to take against their erring candidates. The BJP has always played its role of ‘A team’ to protect its supporting ‘B team’ which is the YCP. There’s no longer any secrecy of their deal. In his protest, Chandrababu deliberately criticised Modi for all the troubles of AP. But his main target was the YCP and he indeed made a scathing attack on Jaganmohan Reddy. GVL has failed to provide convincing replies on the officials’ transfers. The BJP leaders are trying to do some last minute cover up apparently. Analysts say that there’s considerable gap as the YCP top leaders are not personally present in Amaravati to counter TDP expected offensive.

BJP skips Turmeric Board in manifesto: Nizamabad MP Kavitha

0

Why BJP didn’t mention Turmeric Board in its manifesto, questions Nizamabad sitting MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha, while asserting that only TRS can achieve it for the turmeric farmers. BJP had promised turmeric board in its recent Armoor public meeting but ignored to include in the manifesto, that’s why we call it as Bharatiya Zhoota Party, criticizes Kavitha.

“TRS party has been fighting for minimum support price for turmeric and red jowar and this is in the purview of the Centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government failed to deliver the demands of farmers. That’s why Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao-led the TRS government has introduced Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes to support farmers financially by extending farm investment and taking care of families after the death of the breadwinner. Several BJP leaders and chief ministers took part in the poll campaign in Telangana and promised several things including turmeric board. What happened now. There’s no mention about turmeric board in the BJP manifesto. How can we believe this zhoota party? Where’s Ram Madhav, who spoke many things about BJP. It seems he also forgot the issue of turmeric board. I once again assure the farmers that only TRS can achieve turmeric board,” said Kavitha.

Kavitha further expressed concerns over the easing growth rate of Indian economy, while finding fault with BJP government as RBI governors fleeing every two or three years. Further, the BJP government ignored Telangana in developing the Ramayan circuit in the tourism development plan. “I demand the Centre include Bhadrachalam and Jhatapuram in the Ramayan circuit,” maintained Kavitha.

Will BJP arm-twist Jagan ?

1

Barely few days left for the election and it is still not clear as to which party would YSRCP support in the Centre where the rumours are spreading about BJP asking YCP to merge into their party .TDP is a part of the ‘Mahagathbandhan,’ while JSP has formed an in-state alliance with BSP, CPI, and CPM. In the recently held India Today Conclave 2019, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he is not against anyone and would support a party which would grant the special category status to A.P. He further stated that he is keeping his options open. So, it is clear that he will not announce any alliance till the results of the elections are announced. This is a calculated move because announcing support to any of the national alliances will have a direct impact on the voters decision.

The conjecture in the state is that Jagan will support the BJP. Both, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are alleging that Jagan is an ally of BJP and is deliberately staying mum about it. Aligning with BJP might be detrimental to YSRCP. In the past five years, BJP has neither granted AP the special category status nor extended any financial aid. Also, the ‘Modi Wave’ no longer exists. Demonetisation has distressed the common man and has dented Modi’s image. Considering these factors, YSRCP might have chosen to remain silent about their probable alliance.

Amidst the secrecy and speculations, a common question is doing the rounds; why would Jagan support the BJP? Well, the reasons could be plenty. But, the main one seems to be to free himself from all the charges against him. According to the 47 pages affidavit presented to the election commission by Jagan, there are 31 criminal cases pending against him and most of them pertain to his disproportionate assets. Also, he was arrested by the CBI for embezzlement and was jailed for 16 months. However, he is neither proven guilty nor acquitted of the charges. Therefore, Jagan’s predicament will be fully exploited by the BJP. Arm-twisting is not new to Modi-Shah. Post Jayalalitha’s demise, they have manipulated the political scenario in Tamil Nadu and made sure that AIADMK joined hands with the BJP. Similarly, they will corner Jagan and demand his support in return for saving his assets. Consequently, Jagan will have to walk down that path in order to clear himself from the allegations and safeguard his assets.

BJP leads election ad spend on Google platforms

0

Political parties in India spent over Rs 3.7 crore on 831 elections ads on Google platforms from February 19 till April 3, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which spent over Rs 1.21 crore for 554 ads, the “Google India Transparency Report” revealed on Thursday.

At second spot is YSR Congress Party led by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy which spent over Rs 1.07 crore for 107 ads during the period.

Surprisingly, the Congress Party has spent just Rs 54,100 for 14 ads on the Google platforms, including YouTube.

The maximum money on election ads were spent in Andhra Pradesh (over Rs 1.73 crore), followed by Telangana (over Rs 72 lakh), Uttar Pradesh (over Rs 18 lakh) and Maharashtra (over Rs 17 lakh) for the period.

The report included information about spending on ads related to elections that feature a candidate for elected office, a current officeholder, or political party in a parliamentary system.

Google enforced its election ads policy for India in February which requires advertisers running election ads in India to provide a pre-certificate issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), or anyone authorised by the it, for each ad they wish to run.

“Further, Google verifying the identity of advertisers before their election ads run on its platforms,” said the company.

To bring more transparency to election ads, Google introduced an India-specific Political Advertising Transparency Report and searchable Political Ads Library.

“In addition to the Transparency Report and Ads Library, election ads on Google platforms will also disclose who has paid for the ad,” Google said.

“In 2019, over 850 million Indians are expected to cast their vote to elect the country’s next government. We’re thinking hard about elections and how we continue to support democratic processes in India and around the world,” Chetan Krishnaswamy, Director-Public Policy, Google India, had said in a blog post.

Prime Minister Modi, AICC chief Rahul Gandhi to address in Telangana

Hyderabad: Monday is a busy day for Telangana politics as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi will be addressing at public meetings at different places in Telangana. Modi will take part in a public meeting at LB Stadium campaigning for Lok Sabha candidates in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Chevella and Malkajgiri constituencies. Modi will arrive Hyderabad in the evening to address the meeting at 5pm.

BJP leaders Bandaru Dattatreya, MLA Raja Singh, Secunderabad Lok Sabha candidate G Kishan Reddy, Ramachandra Rao, Laxman and other leaders are making arrangements for the public meeting and engaged in mobilizing the public in large numbers.

Rahul Gandhi arrived here from Bengaluru by a special flight on Sunday night and will address at Wanaparthy, Huzurnagar and Zahirabad. Rahul Gandhi is expected to announce highlights of Congress party manifesto at Zahirabad meeting.

Rahul Gandhi will reach Zahirabad by gelicopter from Shamshababaad airport to address a public meeting in the afternoon. Telangana Congress in-charge RC Khuntia, TPCC chief Uttamkumar Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhattivikramarka, star campaigner Vijayashanti and other senior leaders will accompany Rahul Gandhi at the three public meetings.

BJP leaders are criticizing the under current agreement between TRS and Congress. “BJP is gaining the ground as its vote bank has been enhancing. Congress leaders are indirectly working for TRS because of their business interests and real estate ventures. Telangana people voted for Congress and 19 candidates won as MLAs, but 10 of them defected to TRS. That’s the reason, sincere leaders are leaving Congress. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Vijayarama Rao and other Congress leaders are joining BJP. Senior leader and former minister DK Aruna and former TRS Lok Sabha floor leader Jithender Reddy have already joined BJP. This is showing the increasing strength of BJP in Telangana,” said Dr K Laxman.

Vizag pregnant woman issue – YCP-BJP secret deal exposed?

For the past one week, the attack on a pregnant woman’s family in Visakhapatnam is taking many twists and turns. It is well known the owner of their rented house is allegedly a YCP activist and he has beaten up her family for openly supporting Jana Sena Party. The incident sparked protests from women’s organisations. But the local police took one week to file an FIR and register the case properly.

As the pregnant woman’s condition deteriorated initially, the case became a major issue in the midst of elections. Even CM Chandrababu Naidu warned YCP against continuing their goonda and rowdy activities in the state. Seeing all this, the Vizag leaders of YCP and BJP have started showing the house owner as an activist of the BJP and that YCP has no connection with the incident at all.

The people’s organisations have also fired at the police for not taking up the case immediately. They say the police are apparently under the influence of YCP local leaders. The women’s organisations are demanding serious action against the house owner for forcefully evicting the pregnant woman just because she did not consent to take part in YCP campaigning.

Why BJP confident of winning Mahbubnagar MP seat?

0

Hyderabad: BJP has fielded DK Aruna, a senior leader and former Congress minister, in Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency. With TRS sitting MP from Mahbubnagar AP Jithender Reddy returning to BJP, the prospects for BJP winning this MP seat become much brighter, observe political analysts. BJP is likely to offer Rajya Sabha seat to Jithender Reddy.

AP Jithender Reddy, the Mahbubnagar sitting MP from TRS, was denied ticket for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Irked over this, Reddy held a series of meetings with BJP senior leaders including saffron party national general secretary Ram Madhav.

Why TRS has denied ticket to Jithender Reddy? Well Reddy had allegations against him that he indulged in anti-TRS activity as he worked against MLA candidates in the Assembly elections held in December 2018.

Jithender Reddy’s joining TRS helped the pink party strengthen in Mahbbubanagar district. The vacuum created by his absence for BJP has been filled by DK Aruna, who left Congress to join saffron party. With adding strength of Jithender Reddy, BJP is on cloud nine as this party considers this Mahbubnagar MP seat is almost confirmed for it.

From Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency Jithender Reddy contested on TDP ticket in 1996, on BJP ticket contested in 1998 and 1999 and on TRS ticket in 2014.

CEC joins list of CBI, ED, IT etc – Demolition drive continues

1

The past six months have opened a new chapter in the history of Centre-State relations in India. AP people have seen how the national institutions like the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, etc have conducted raids on the targetted leaders and their associates belonging to the non-BJP parties. TDP boss and CM Chandrababu Naidu has blamed PM Modi for misusing and demolishing the national organisations to harass rival political parties.

Now the Central Election Commission (CEC) has also jointed the list of these national institutions which are being rampantly misused by the BJP government at the Centre. Within hours of complaints made by BJP’s secret partner YCP, the CEC has transferred Director General (Intelligence) AB Venkateswara Rao and two SPs and asked the TDP government to suggest new officials in their place. The transfers were made after YCP complained that these IPS officers are working in favour of the ruling TDP. The move is being criticised by different sections as to how an important pillar of democracy like the CEC has also surrendered to the Central government’s arm twisting methods.

This is the first time in the history of the country’s electoral politics that the IPS transfers were effected so arbitrarily just based on the complaints of an Opposition party in a state. Analysts say this is nothing but the continuation of demolition drive against the national institutions to take ‘absolute power’.

Why BJP denied ticket to Bandaru Dattatreya?

0

Hyderabad: Bandaru Dattatreya, sitting MP from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, was denied party ticket and this has become a talk of the town in the constituency. Instead, BJP is fielding G Kishan Reddy, who lost in Amberpet Assembly constituency in December 2018. Interestingly, BJP has given party ticket to DK Aruna, who just joined BJP from Congress, for Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency.

“May be Dattatreya to get a prominet position in the party. BJP may not set aside a senior leader like Dattatreya,” said a senior BJP leader.

Dattatreya is a senior BJP leader and former union minister as well. Dattatreya is a fourth time MP from Secunderabad and worked and held central portfolios including railways, housing and urban, and labour ministries. Dattatreya was dropped from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet in September 2017.

Though Dattatreya is not a high flying Parliamentarian, he’s been easily accessible and is known for resolving local issues. However, during the suicide episode of Rohit Vemula, a student of University of Hyderabad, in 2016, Dattatreya faced a tough time. Dattatreya was named in the chargesheet on Rohit Vemula’s suicide case.

By dropping Dattatreya from the Modi’s Cabinet, NDA government has no representation from Telangana. BJP had five MLAs in the first-term of Telangana Assembly during 2014-18 and the number reduced to one after Assembly elections held in December 2018 as Raja Singh is the lone BJP MLA representing from Goshamahal constituency in Telangana.

Madison Media to handle BJP’s media campaign for 2019 election

0

The BJP has again appointed marketing guru Sam Balsara-led Madison Media to handle its media buying duties for the 2019 general elections.

Madison will create media planning and buying strategy for the BJP for all mass media including print, television and radio, informed sources said on Friday.

They said the campaign will seek to create awareness about the “tranformation” brought into the society by the Modi government through schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Digital India, Skill India, Make in India and more.

A BJP leader familiar with the development said that the party’s campaign would focus on the achievements of the Modi government.

In 2014, advertising agencies such as Soho Square, Piyush Pandey’s Ogilvy & Mather, Prasoon Joshi’s McCann and Madison World had helped the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to storm to power with the biggest election victory for a single party in 30 years.

Soho Square and O&M had also worked on the BJP’s successful campaigns for the Haryana and Maharashtra polls.

The BJP has stuck to Ogilvy & Mather – which created the successful “Ab ki baar Modi sarkaar” campaign in 2014 – as its creative agency and Prasoon Joshi’s McCann to prepare a theme song with patriotic fervour for the party.

Joshi penned the BJP’s theme song for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls titled “Main desh nahi mitne dunga”, which was sung by Sukhwinder Singh.

Transfer DGP during elections – AP BJP asks ECI

0

Andhra Pradesh BJP unit has taken up an all-out fight with DGP RP Thakur, who is in the thick of political controversies ahead of elections. BJP delegation led by AP unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana met with officials of Election Commission of India in Delhi. They explained the ground level issues on the police bias in favour of the TDP. They demanded that AP DGP be transferred from his present post at the time of elections.

BJP spokesman GVL Narasimha Rao has also accused the AP police of acting like the Telugu Desam Party activists rather than the public servants or government employees. Kanna Lakshminarayana told the Election Commission that the TDP government is misusing the official machinery and committing data thefts. The names of voters belonging to non-TDP parties are being deleted from the lists by filing fake form-7 applications, he said.

Kanna said the AP officials are not bothering to take any action though many complaints were made and they were favouring the TDP in all issues. YCP leaders have also complained that the TDP is getting its voters’ names illegally deleted from the lists. Meanwhile, the TDP says it is a larger conspiracy by Jagan, KCR and PM Modi.

Why is Jaganmohan Reddy avoiding open alliance with BJP?

0

It is well known that YCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy has a secret deal with the Modi-Shah duo. The burning question is why Jagan is not ready for an electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Jagan’s friendship with BJP is exposed yet again. YCP leaders are claiming that Jagan’s housewarming in Amavarati capital city brought good news to people of AP as the Centre announced Railway Zone for Visakhapatnam.

All political events involving the Modi government at the Centre are taking place to suit the electoral needs of YCP as far as AP state is concerned. The BJP’s graph might have risen after the country’s brave and bold counter attacks on Pakistan. Yet, Jaganmohan Reddy is avoiding an open alliance with BJP. Analysts say Jaganmohan Reddy is not an innocent to lose total support of the intellectuals, neutral voters and also muslim community.

At the very mention of BJP, almost all leaders in YCP are against any alliance with that party. They know that BJP is now enemy number one for AP people and the Congress comes only next. The 2019 election is indeed going to be a very tough poll because of presence of too many parties and also Pawan Kalyan. Jagan is not ready to take any chances.

Will airstrikes help BJP gain ground in Telugu states?

0

Hyderabad: The latest airstrikes carried out by Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday have not only cheered the nation, but also boosted the morale of BJP, which is bad shape in both the Telugu states. Definitely, it’ll brighten the prospects for BJP in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, observes a senior saffron party leader, while political analysts feel that “chances are brighter that airstrikes will outweigh local issues, but to what extent BJP can pick up, one has to wait and see.”

The positive impact of Tuesday’s airstrikes on Pakistan may comfortably last until Lok Sabha elections reasonably enough for BJP to gain on this ground. It may be recalled that after winning encouragingly in 2014 elections, BJP lost in subsequent Assembly polls in New Delhi and Bihar. However, after surgical strikes on Pakistan in September 2016, BJP significantly recovered and won all Assembly elections held in 2017 and 2018. However, as the local and administrative issues started with fading impact of surgical strikes, BJP lost in Assembly elections in five states and Telangana was one of them.

BJP had five MLAs in the first term of Telangana Assembly and the number dropped to one in the just concluded elections in December 2018 as only Raja Singh won in Goshamahal Assembly constituency. BJP has on MP from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency i.e. Bandaru Dattatreya.

“Regardless of local issues, all the Indians have arrived to a conclusion that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can send a befitting answer to Pakistan and terrorist groups, who’re against India. However, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has succeeded in holding BJP as major reason for not awarding special status to AP. whether airstrikes east out the anti-BJP wave in AP, let’s wait and see. Coming to Telangana, BJP may retain Secunderabad seat in addition to winning one or two, if the airstrikes herald nationalism strongly, ” said the analyst.

No takers for BJP MLA tickets – Party image at its lowest

0

Till a few weeks ago, one Dr. Shanta Rao showed lot of interest to contest on the BJP ticket in Palasa assembly segment in Srikakulam district. The district party unit conveyed the same to the party state leadership. But now things took a dramatic turn as Dr. Shanta Rao is no longer interested in this. The reasons are obvious. He found out in his personal surveys that there would be no chance to get bare minimum votes, leave alone deposits.

With this, the BJP leaders are left in a state of shock. They don’t know that their party’s image has taken such a severe beating among AP people. The situation is no better in most assembly segments in the state. Even the Lok Sabha constituencies are also giving a tough time. In the absence of strong aspirants, the BJP state leaders are not able to begin the ticket allotment exercise till now. Worse still, things are getting worse with each passing day.

There is a feeling within the BJP that their campaign style has not yielded any good results so far. The AP people are not believing their leaders’ arguments that the Modi government has fulfilled majority promises of reorganisation. It is also too late for the BJP to change its strategy and renew their attack on rivals.

Amit Shah visit caused more damage to BJP in AP

0

Already, the BJP is on the death bed in Andhra Pradesh. Its condition is no better than the Congress. Both the national parties have become enemies of Andhra people after the separation of AP from Hyderabad capital city in 2014. The Congress has realised its fate and it is keeping low profile. But the BJP is putting up a brave front and it is trying to compete with the strong regional players by making all sorts of provocative statements.

During his visit to AP, BJP National President Amit Shah made a statement that provoked angry feelings among the AP people. He said the Modi government had ensured Rs. 10 lakh crore worth projects and programmes in Andhra Pradesh in the past five years. This statement had affected the sentiment of 5.5 crore people of AP. Expectedly, the BJP leaders in the State became more worried about the consequences of Amit Shah’s comments.

There are not many takers for the BJP tickets either for Assembly or Lok Sabha seats in AP in this election. The party leaders are yet to begin candidates selection process though the general election is fast approaching. Instead of making promises to ensure justice to AP, Amit Shah spoke as if their party had done more than enough. Rivals are highlighting this to cause greater damage to BJP.

BJP sees 15% vote bank in Telangana

0

Hyderabad: Banking on the advantage of EBC quota, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is estimating its vote bank to the tune of 15 percent in Telangana. BJP Telangana unit attributes several reasons to its dismal performance in the recent Assembly elections held in December 2018.

BJP Telangana unit president Dr K Laxman has further said that the party lost miserably due to an alliance with TDP, while asserting that the party will highlight the lapses in 55-year ruling of Congress and success of 55-month ruling of BJP government.

“Lakhs of votes have been deleted in the recent Assembly elections in Telangana. Malfunctioning of EVMs was another reason. In my Musheerabad Assembly constituency, about 61,000 votes were deleted. Moreover, 8,500 votes were found to be fake. How it was possible? Further, there was a huge mismatch of votes polled and VVPat receipts. Assembly dissolved nine months ahead of general elections also benefited the TRS party. All these factors tilted the results in favor of TRS. Now, the situation is different. We’ll do our best to compete with TRS. The situation in Telangana would be different for KCR, if Assembly and Lok Sabha polls are held simultaneously. BJP will contest in all the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies,” said Laxman.

With BJP passing the Bill for 10 percent reservations for economically backward classes (EBC) benefiting upper castes, Laxman is confident of enhanced vote bank in the state.

AP unfulfilled promises hanging like a sword on BJP neck?

0

It is well known no party can fulfill the political promises hundred percent. The same is the case with the commitments and promises that were made to AP at the time of formation of separate Telangana. This is a 5-year-old story but now it has become a curse for the Bharatiya Janata Party as far as the twin Telugu states are concerned. The unfulfilled or half-fulfilled promises of AP are hanging like a sworn on the BJP neck.

Consequently, the BJP leaders are fighting hard to counter TDP’s attacks on these promises. Initially, they felt confident on facing this problem. Eventually, even PM Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah had to go defensive and narrate steps their party has taken to help AP people. BJP manifesto committee member Ram Madhav makes it a point to list out projects taken up in AP state. All their efforts are being wasted what with the general feeling in AP that the state is not given what it deserves.

Now the BJP leaders are singing a new tune which is that their party has fulfilled 80 per cent of the promises made at the time of state reorganisation. Who will trust such words when the main demand of special status is not fulfilled? The desperation of BJP leaders is understandable. But the aspirations of AP people are also equally intense. The feeling of injustice will stay till AP people feel their state has become equal to Telangana in terms of capital city, resources, etc.

Heated debate in AP Assembly on Centre’s injustice

0

The AP Assembly began a discussion on the Modi government’s injustice done to the State in the past four and half years. But BJP MLA Vishnukumar Raju asserted that the Centre had done a lot for the development of the newly created AP state by giving funds for Central institutions and so on. He tried to list out various institutions and the funds given for them. This had enraged and made AP CM Chandrababu Naidu greatly angry.

CBN launched a scathing attack on the BJP saying there is no choice for the Centre but to set up the central institutions as per the bifurcation act. That is the rightful claim of the AP people who have been given so many promises at the time of separate statehood. This took the BJP and the TDP MLAs by surprise. Naidu went on asking whether it would be proper to subject the new state to political harassment.

CBN also passed serious comments saying leaders like Vishnukumar Raju have no right to continue as the people’s representatives because of their unwillingness to fight for the people’s cause. Naidu asked why the Centre is giving more preference to Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and other states. Why not Andhra Pradesh? He dared the BJP to arrest the TDP leaders for their justified struggle.

UP poll survey: SP-BSP giving sleepless nights to BJP

0

The coming together of Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh is turning out to be a bitter test for the BJP. Surveys are saying the SP-BSP combine will badly upset plans of the Modi-Shah duo in the country’s largest state. The India Today-Kaarvi survey has said that if elections are held now, the SP-BSP alliance will win 58 MP seats while the BJP allies will be reduced to just 18 seats as against four of Congress.

The survey discloses that if the SP-BSP join hands with the Congress, their total tally will further increase from 62 to 75. This will reduce the BJP’s prospects from 18 to just 5 MP seats. Because of the state-level local issues, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav did not tie up with the Congress party. They are talking of any anti-BJP alliance talks after the results of the general election come out and depending on the numbers game at that time.

It is only anti-Modi sentiment that has brought Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav together. In 2014 election, the BJP won over 71 MP seats out of the total 80 in UP. It ally Apna Dal won 2 more seats. The success in UP has put the BJP in a comfortable position to form the government. But the changed political scene indicates a tough time for the BJP this time.
