Why is Chandrababu upset with party seniors?

1

TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu is said to be mightily upset with the senior leaders in his party. He is said to be angry with the way they stayed lukewarm during the recent attacks on the TDP offices by YSRCP workers. He found that barring Atchen Naidu and a handful of other leaders, no leader of any importance has joined the TDP protests.

He is also livid that the state-wide bandh call that he gave ended up as a damp squib. In many places, the TDP leaders did not take to streets and enforce the bandh. The reports from various districts revealed that the local satraps did not even make an attempt to make the bandh a success. He was also unhappy that the TDP leaders did not have a contingency plan ready even as they were aware that they would be house-arrested.

An angry Chandrababu reportedly spoke to several senior leaders and asked them as to why they remained unmoved at such a critical time. He said they should have shown motivational leadership and inspired the cadre.

.It may be recalled that earlier too, the TDP leaders offered only token protests and left the scene the moment the media clicked their photographs. As a result, the protest programmes called by the party fizzled out. Chandrababu did not want this to happen in case of the protests against the vandalism in the party offices. But the senior leaders were lukewarm to the calls given by the party.

Chandrababu’s big plan behind Delhi visit

1

Is there more to Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed meeting with Union Home Minister and BJP strongman Amit Shah than meets the eye? Is it not a mere angry rant of a helpless opposition leader? Is there some well thought-out plan of action behind Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement that he would complain about the happenings in Andhra Pradesh.

Sources say that foxy Chandrababu has a bigger plan in meeting Amit Shah. During his meeting with Amit Shah Chandrababu is likely to broach the subject of a possible political alliance between the TDP and the BJP. Like Eatala Rajender, who felt that only BJP’s support will help him in winning the Huzurabad bypoll, Chandrababu too is convinced that he cannot take on the might of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy all alone.

He feels he needs the backing of the Central Government, which is run by the BJP. Hence Chandrababu’s ultimate plan is to stitch up a coalition between Jana Sena, BJP and the TDP. He knows this combination had helped the TDP come to power in 2014.

His plan now is to bring to life the 2014 coalition for the 2024 elections. He feels that this combo would be able to defeat the YSRC. Chandrababu knows that another couple of defeats for the TDP would mean that the YSRCP would become more aggressive. The TDP would be further demoralised. Hence, Chandrababu is aiming to bring together the three parties. This is said to be the real reason for the Delhi tour.

Chandrababu Naidu begins protest, seeks Centre’s intervention

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday began 36-hour long sit-in at party’s central office at Mangalagiri to protest Tuesday’s attacks on party offices and demanded the Centre’s intervention to save the people of Andhra Pradesh from what he called the drug mafia and the undemocratic and fascist regime.

The leader of opposition reiterated his demand for invoking Article 356, saying Andhra Pradesh in its present situation was a fit case for imposition of President’s rule.

He claimed that the TDP never made such a demand in the past and it was not in the habit of making such demands considering the need to overlook stray mistakes by some individuals. “But, the lapses of the Jaganmohan Reddy Government crossed all limits. The future of the whole State and the country is at stake now,” he said.

The former chief minister began the sit-in to protest Tuesday’s attacks on party offices and leaders by supporters of ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

The protest with the title ‘fight against state terrorism’ began 8 a.m. and will continue till 8 p.m. on Friday.

He alleged that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was growing impatient over the increasing public resentment against his Government’s atrocities, all round corruption and attacks on all constitutional institutions. Tuesday’s attack on TDP main office was not a sporadic, isolated incident but a culmination of two and half years of lawless, anarchic and oppressive regime, he said.

Addressing the party leaders and cadres, the TDP chief reminded the Centre that the dark activities of the Andhra Pradesh ganja mafia was not limited to the State but spread to Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other States.

Stating that the menace of drugs poses a big threat to the nation, he alleged that cases were being booked against TDP leaders for demanding action against those supplying drugs.

Naidu deplored that the ‘state-sponsored terrorism’ was reaching new heights in the state. “A Member of Parliament became a victim of custodial torture. YSRCP’s own MP Raghu Rama Raju was taken into unlawful custody and beaten up. The Jagan regime made countless attacks on the autonomy of the courts, the Election Commission, opposition parties and general public. Dalit doctor Dr Sudhakar was put to psychological and financial torture till his death for demanding masks.”

Naidu said there was a complete breakdown of law and order in the state. He termed the attacks on TDP offices an attack on democracy. He claimed that the attacks were pre-planned and aimed at eliminating the party. He reiterated that he personally called the Director General of Police but he did not respond.

He said the TDP party leader Pattabhi Ram’s house was attacked and ransacked. There were attacks at several places including party offices at Visakhapatnam, Hindupur and Kadapa. He said TDP offices and leaders were targeted.

“They are saying that the language used by Pattabhi Ram was abusive. Are you ready for a debate on the kind of language used by Jagan and his ministers,” he asked the government.

He said though TDP offices and leaders were attacked, police booked cases against them. An intruder into TDP office was caught and handed over to police but a case was booked against TDP leaders.

Stating that TDP pays tributes to policemen on every police commemoration day, Naidu said the police department was getting a bad name because of few officers.

Will Chandrababu-Amit Shah meet herald new political equation?

0

Will Union Home Minister Amit Shah give an appointment to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu? This is the biggest question floating among the political class these days. Chandrababu Naidu is all set to go to Delhi to meet Amit Shah and apprise him of the attacks on TDP offices across the state by YSRCP workers. But, given the kind of relations that the TDP and the BJP have, will Amit Shah agree to meet Chandrababu?

In the wake of the attacks on the TDP offices and the dramatic arrest of party spokesperson Pattabhi, Chandrababu Naidu will undertake a 36 hour deeksha in Amaravati. Soon after the deeksha, he is set to go to Delhi. He had already written to the Centre to send Central forces to bring the situation in the state under control.

The BJP and the Chandrababu do not exactly enjoy the best of relations. In fact, Amit Shah was attacked by the TDP activists when he visited Tirupati in the past. Stones were pelted at him and Chandrababu even went to the extent of forming an alliance with the Congress to defeat the BJP. In fact, there were allegations that he had funded the Congress campaign in some states.

Given all these, will Chandrababu be able to get an appointment of Amit Shah? But, one sign of thaw is that Amit Shah readily spoke to Chandrababu when the latter called him the other day over the issue of the YSRCP attacks on the TDP headquarters. Chandrababu hopes that Amit Shah will act as a minister and not as a BJP leader. Not just that. If Amit Shah gives an appointment to Chandrababu, it could even unveil a new political equation in the state.

Naidu to meet Amit Shah, to sit on 36-hr deeksha!

1

TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu will meet union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday, October 23.

Naidu will complain against the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh for resorting to attacks on the offices of TDP and residences of TDP leaders and damaging their properties in broad broadlight.

Naidu will submit evidence to Amit Shah on how YSRCP activists vandalised TDP offices in the state besides residences of TDP leaders and how the AP police failed to act under pressure from the ruling YSRCP leaders and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Naidu will submit evidence to Amit Shah on deteriorating law and order situation in AP and demand imposition of President Rule in AP as per Article 356 of the Constitution since the YSRCP government failed to maintain law and order in the state and government itself sponsored attacks on TDP.

Naidu will also sit on 36-hour deeksha at TDP office in Mangalagiri, which was vandalised by YSRCP activist to protest against attacks on TDP offices and leaders.

Naidu’s deekha will start at 8 am on Thursday and end at 8 pm on Friday.

After deeksha, Naidu will leave for Delhi to meet Amit Shah.

Is Chandrababu readying up ‘secret weapons’ for 2024?

0

Is Chandrababu bringing out his “hidden weapons” to counter the YSRCP blitzkrieg? Sources in the know say ‘yes.’  Chandrababu, who realises that the TDP is passing through a very critical phase in its existence, wants to bring to the fore his two most ‘potent’ weapons. Chandrababu is already said to have initiated steps to put in place his master plan.

The TDP realises that there are two weapons that he can use to outwit the YSRCP. One is Pawan Kalyan. An electoral understanding with Pawan Kalyan and his Jana Sena will give the TDP the required advantage. In fact, it was the alliance with Pawan Kalyan and the BJP that helped him to sail through in 2014. In 2019, he fell out with Pawan and the BJP and thus could not withstand Jagan’s political machinations. So, Chandrababu Naidu is trying to get pally with Pawan. This could be seen in the Monday’s statement of Pawan Kalyan demanding action against the spate of attacks on TDP offices across the state. Soon after the attacks began, Pawan issued a statement and sought Centre’s intervention.

The second ‘most potent weapon’ to save the TDP is roping Junior NTR. Highly placed sources say that Chandrababu Naidu has already spoken to Junior NTR. Junior NTR has been keeping away from the TDP after he was slighted and ignored by Chandrababu post 2009 elections. But, Chandrababu is said to have told NTR that it was time to bury the differences and save the TDP. NTR is said to have responded favourably. However, his movie commitments might prevent him from jumping into the fray immediately.

Sources say that NTR might campaign for the party that his gradpa launched at the time of elections. TDP sources feel that this surprise weapon will push the YSRCP into defence. The TDP, sources say, is readying its weapons for the 2024.

Exclusion of caste data as unjust as discrimination: Chandrababu Naidu

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the inclusion of caste data in the census.

In his letter, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister noted that such a census is essential for the progress of the Backward Castes (BCs).

The BCs comprise the majority of India’s population but are not receiving benefits proportional to their numbers, he said.

The first BC commission, in 1953, and subsequently several other national and state BC commissions had recommended enumeration of BCs in the national census, he noted.

“There is speculation that a caste census would further deepen the social divisions and promote discrimination. However, the exclusion of caste data can be as unjust as caste-based discrimination. Lack of data will only result in inefficient policies and weak implementation of schemes meant for the welfare and development of BCs,” he said.

Naidu said that BCs remain in poverty due to lack of sufficient data, although several government policies have been formulated for their welfare.

Another Kuppam test for Chandrababu Naidu soon!!

0

What Pulivendula is to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Kuppam is to Chandrababu Naidu! A pocket borough, a citadel and an impregnable fortress!! Since 1985, only TDP flag fluttered in Kuppam and only Chandrababu emerged victorious. But since 2019, the plot seems to be changing in for Kuppam story. Not only the victory margin fell down drastically in the assembly elections, the YSRCP made inroads in panchayat, ZPTC and MPTC elections. Two of the mandals in Kuppam did not return even a single MPTC.

Amid falling popularity graph, Chandrababu Naidu visited Kuppam for three days in this month to revive the party and arrest defections. Now there is another major test of popularity for Chandrababu in Kuppam. Elections are round the corner for Kuppam, where municipality could not have elections along with other municipalities in the state. While the YSRCP wants to wipe out the TDP from Kuppam municipality, the TDP is trying hard to redeem its prestige.

If sources are to be believed, Chandrababu Naidu is likely to campaign in Kuppam municipality for three days. If this happens, it would be a first as Chandrababu has never campaigned for Kuppam municipality elections. But, this time things appear to be different as Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is pulling all stops to wrest Kuppam.

Results in Kuppam could also decide whether Chandrababu has to look for a safer assembly constituency or should fight from two seats as a backup in the 2024 elections.

Chandrababu’s Kuppam tour: Better late than never!!

0

The first impression of Chandrababu Naidu’s three-day tour of Kuppam is that it is too late and too little. Lot of lost ground and missed opportunities greeted Chandrababu Naidu as he toured his home turf of Kuppam. The tour that should have been taken soon after the 2019 assembly elections is happening a tad too late and this has given an opportunity to YSRCP strongman Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy to wean away several key workers of the TDP.

Covid restrictions did prevent him from undertaking an extensive tour of Kuppam, but he lost two years as a result. No major programmes were organised in Kuppam. Meanwhile, consecutive adverse election results have hit the morale of the party workers hard. Using this, the YSRCP has poached several important workers in the constituency.

Insiders say that due to Chandrababu’s continued absence from Kuppam, some PAs and some local leaders became all powerful and they dominated the diehard cadres of the party. There are allegations that even Lokesh did not give any importance to the loyal cadres. With Jagan and Peddireddy focusing on Kuppam, several works were launched and the people slowly turned towards the YSRCP. They lured the party workers at the booth level. This has now turned out to be a major headache for Chandrababu.

Another major source of trouble is the growing popularity of Junior NTR in Kuppam. Slogans such as NTR Zindabad are greeting Chandrababu. The local cadre are yearning for an active role to NTR in the party. This is being seen as an open challenge to Lokesh Babu’s leadership. The three-day tour is likely to retrieve some lost ground. But, it is quite late. But, as they say, better late than never.

Chandrababu begins 3-day tour in Kuppam

0

Stung by the string of reversals in Kuppam, TDP chief is on a course correction mode in his home turf of Kuppam. Starting from Tuesday (October 12), he would camp in Kuppam for three days to regain the lost ground. He is all set to meet the party workers and leaders to breathe new confidence among them. During this period, he would also review the party position and the reasons for the electoral defeats in Kuppam.

On October 12, he will address a public meeting in Kuppam. He would also conduct a road show in Kuppam. On October 13, he will cover Ramakuppam and Santipuram mandals. On the last day, he would cover rural Kuppam and Gudupalli. During this period, he would meet old-timers, party loyalists and others.

The panchayat elections, though not fought on party basis, were a wakeup call. Out of the 89 panchayats in Kuppam assembly constituency, the YSRCP supporters bagged 74, while the TDP had to remain content with just 14 panchayats. Soon after this debacle, Chandrababu Naidu stayed for three days in the constituency and interacted with several leaders. This has succeeded in instilling confidence among the voters.

The TDP had boycotted the MPTC and ZPTC elections. But there were party candidates fighting the election unofficially. The YSRCP had won 17 of the 19 MPTCs, leaving two for the TDP in Kuppam mandal. It won all the 16 in Ramakuppam and all but one in Gudipala and Santipuram mandals.

TDP workers and leaders feel that Chandrababu’s three-day visit will breathe new life into the party and will re energise the party. The party workers are making preparations to ensure that Chandrababu’s three-day tour will become successful.

Why Chandrababu is delaying appointment of Sattenapalli incharge?

0

There is a problem that political warhorse and a veteran of many political battles, Chandrababu Naidu is unable to solve. Chandrababu had appointed incharges for 16 of the 17 assembly constituencies in Guntur. But, there is one constituency which he is unable to decide. There are many claimants, but Chandrababu is unable to choose one.

No marks for guessing which constituency it is. It is Sattenapalli constituency. As long as Kodela Sivaprasad was there, the TDP did not have to bother about it. After his passing away, the seat has been without an incharge. There are several claimants. Kodela’s son Sivaramakrishna, former MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao’s son RangaRao, former MLA GV Anjaneyulu have already thrown their hat in the ring.

Meanwhile senior leader Nagothu Souraiah has entered the fray. A native of Turakapalem in Nakarikallu mandal in the constituency, Souraiah has been with the party for over three decades and served in various capacities such as sarpanch and MPP. He has recently met Chandrababu Naidu and expressed his desire to be made the incharge of the constituency. Other leaders like Mannem Sivanagamalleswara Rao of Abburu, who was Telugu Yuvatha leader for eight years, too are aspiring for the post.

Interestingly, Chandrababu Naidu is still weighing the options. He has kept the appointment in cold storage and has been in a wait and watch mode. As he is delaying the appointment, more and more people are throwing her hat in the Sattenapalli ring.

Party workers want Chandrababu to set Chittoor in order

0

There is stunned silence in Chittoor district in general and Kuppam assembly constituency in particular after the MPTC and ZPTC election results were out. The TDP was badly mauled and all the efforts could not stop the Jagan Juggernaut. The party workers and cadre are almost in a mourning.

They are as pained as Chandrababu is over the election reversals at the local level. In the 2019 elections, all seats except Kuppam went into the YSRCP kitty. Now, it appears even Kuppam has slipped out of hands. Tirupati, Kuppam, Palamner, Madanapalle, Nagari, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu and Piler were TDP citadels for decades. The TDP went crashing even in these areas. In case of Chandragiri, Punganuru, Tamballapalli and Putalabattu, the leaders have become very inactive.

The TDP workers and grassroots level leaders are now raising questions about the way the party is being managed in Chittoor. Many are commenting that it is better to focus on the party instead of targeting the ruling party.

In fact, post the 2019 defeat, the party workers told Chandrababu about various issues confronting the party. Chandrababu Naidu noted down all the points. But precious little was done. Later, similar points were raised during the panchayat polls. The party leaders took note and did nothing. They now want Chandrababu to set the house in order in his home district.

Has protest in front of Chandrababu Naidu’s house boomeranged for Jogi Ramesh?

0

Has his bombastic protest in front of Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu’s residence boomeranged on Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh? Is he finding himself completely isolated on the issue? Did he really manage to get some traction from the whole incident?

On September 17, there was tension in front of Chandrababu’s residence in Undavalli due to the protest by the YSRCP workers. A small crowd, led by MLA Jogi Ramesh protested against the remarks of TDP senior leader Ayyanna Patrudu against YS Jagan. They wanted Ayyanna Patrudu to apologise for the remarks. The TDP cadre too gathered in sufficient numbers and they opposed the group led by the MLA. This led to fisticuffs and attacks with sticks and stones. The police entered the scene and dispersed the crowds.

But, it appears that the incident hasn’t helped Jogi Ramesh much. Firstly, he was the only leader joining the protest. Krishna district has three ministers, but not one thought it fit to join the protest. Also, there were no protests anywhere in the state against Ayyanna’s comments on YS Jagan. The party largely ignored him. But by staging a protest, Ramesh has only helped popularize Ayyanna’s comments. This has actually proved counter-productive.

The general feeling is that Jogi Ramesh has organized the protest only to catch the attention of YS Jagan and that he is angling for a ministerial berth. It is only to firm up his prospects that Ramesh organized this protest. Also, the crowd that gathered in front of Chandrababu’s residence was not a big one. This feeble protest has done more damage than benefit for the party. Many feel that the whole effort has failed to achieve the desired objective.

Stormy monsoon session to witness Babu-Jagan faceoff

1

The monsoon session of the AP Assembly is set to be held very soon. The government is making arrangements for the same. A notification is expected anytime soon. Of late, the assembly sessions in AP are fast emerging as live sparring shows, with both the government and the opposition spiting at one another. According to some, with the kind of attacks, counter-attacks, the verbal harangues and the wordy duels, the assembly is fast emerging as a potboiler.

How the Opposition TDP will corner the Government and how the YSRCP will isolate Chandrababu would be keenly watched. Personalised attacks are likely to raise the heat in the legislative assembly. The ruling YSRCP might go ballistic on the TDP and might specifically highlight the dismal performance of the TDP in the MPTC and ZPTC elections. At the same time, the TDP is likely to focus on the recent attack on Chandrababu’s residence.

The issues such as the financial improprieties of the Jagan Government and the Central Government’s admonition of the State Government are also likely to be discussed. Lokesh’s tours and his vituperative attacks too could figure during the discussions. The TDP is also likely to highlight the failures of the YSRCP Government.

The assembly session will also see a major face-off between Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu. In the last session, the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu stayed away from the assembly proceedings in protest against Jagan’s attitude. Will it be different this time? Let’s wait and see how things unfold.

YSRCP MLA Jogi Ramesh, activists attack Naidu’s house!

0

In a shocking incident, YSRCP MLA Jogi Ramesh from Pedana constituency along with hundreds of YSRCP activists laid siege to TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu’s residence in Undavalli in Vijayawada and pelted stones at the Naidu’s residence on Friday (today)

Tension prevailed at Naidu’s residence as TDP and YSRCP activists clashed with each other.

TDP activists prevented YSRCP activists from coming near the Naidu’s residence. Naidu was inside his residence when the violence broke out.

Several TDP activists including TDP MLC Buddha Venkanna were injured after YSRCP workers attacked them with stones and sticks.

Jogi Ramesh along with workers tried to lay seige to Naidu’s residence to protest the remarks made by TDP senior leader Ayyanna Patrudu at the memorial service for former minister Kodela Sivaprasad on Thursday.

Ayyanna Patrudu criticised that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy imposed an additional financial burden on the common and middle-class people by way of garbage collection tax. He made these comments after unveiling the statue of the late Assembly Speaker Dr. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao on the occasion of his second death anniversary at his native place Kandlakunta village under Nakirikallu mandal of Guntur district on Thursday.

Jogi Ramesh demanded Ayyanna Patrudu to withdraw his remarks against Jagan and tender apologies to Jagan and if not he will lay siege to Naidu’s residence.

Jogi Ramesh even warned Ayyanna that Chandrababu and Lokesh would be expelled from the state if his remarks were not withdrawn.

Heavy police was deployed to control the situation. The police resorted to lathi-charge and dispersed the mob.

Is Chandrababu Naidu losing grip on TDP?

0

Is Chandrababu Naidu losing his grip on the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh? The recent incidents show that the leaders at the district level are becoming bolder and bolder. Some leaders have openly questioned Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. On some issues, Chandrababu appears to be totally clueless on how to deal with the emerging situations.

First, it was Rajahmundry’s six-time MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary. He threatened to resign from the party over his arch rival in the party – Adireddy Appa Rao – being given more importance. That he kept the party leadership on the edge for over ten days . He did finally fall in line, but not before making his point. Even at the press conference that he has addressed after his meeting with Chandrababu Naidu, Butchaiah Chowdary looked quite defiant.

No sooner did this issue subside than the Anantapuram TDP episode came to the fore. It was not an outsider who was maligning the TDP. It was an insider. JC Prabhakar Reddy made shocking comments on leaders like Palle Raghunatha Reddy. He said that Palle was colluding with the YSRCP only to save his 200 acres of landed assets. JC’s supporters even took to Facebook to accuse Palle of trying to put spokes in the works of Kia motors. Palle’s supporters criticised JC on several other issues.

While all this was happening, there was no action from party boss Chandrababu Naidu. Neither did he admonish anyone nor did he try to set the house in order. He stayed put at Hyderabad. His son Lokesh too did not intervene in the issue. Many in the party are now beginning to feel that Chandrababu Naidu is slowly but surely beginning to lose his grip on the party. They feel that Chandrababu Naidu should act sooner than later to set the house in order.

Chandrababu launches Rythula Kosam TDP programme for farmers

0

The Opposition TDP is planning to target the faulty handing of the farm sector by the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh. Starting from September 14, the TDP is organising an ambitious outreach titled “Rythula Kosam Telugu Desam.” This will continue till September 18. The TDP will expose the failures of the YSRCP government in the farm sector through this programme.

According to senior leader and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, the programme is being organised as per the directions of party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The party will organise one programme a zone in each of the five zones in the state. Under this programme, as many as 35 assembly constituencies would be covered. He said that the protests for the Rayalaseema zone would be held on September 14. On September 15, twin Godavari districts and Nellore would witness protests. Similarly, protests would be organized on September 17 in Ongole, Tirupati, Nellore and Chittoor regions. On September 18, protests would be held in Central Coastal districts of Krishna and Guntur.

Stating that the growth in agriculture has considerably come down after YS Jagan took over, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that during the TDP rule, an impressive 11.5 per cent growth was registered. He said the TDP has failed on all fronts and the state has not seen any growth after YS Jagan took over. He reminded that the TDP while in power used to provide a subsidy of Rs 9000 per farmer. The present YSRCP government was giving only Rs 6500, he said.

The TDP said that the YSRCP government has stopped giving subsidies to the drip irrigation. While the Central government was providing 60 percent of the subsidy, the state government is coming forward to provide the remaining 40 per cent. As a result, the scheme is not being implemented in the state government, he said.

Why is Jagan making the same mistake that Chandrababu did?

0

Is AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy doing the same mistake that Chandrababu Naidu did before 2019? Will he end up making Nara Lokesh a hero the way Chandrababu made YS Jagan a hero? Why is YS Jagan, who wasn’t afraid of calling for the public hanging of Chandrababu, trying to impose curbs on the tours, meetings and public addresses of Nara Lokesh? Why this sense of fear and desperation?

Jagan clearly appears unnerved by the response that Nara Lokesh is eliciting wherever he is going. The TDP workers and sympathisers, who were confined to their homes, are coming into the open. His high-profile visits have become the talk of the town. All these appear to have unnerved YS Jagan Mohan Reddy so much that he has asked the administration to put spokes in Lokesh’s programmes. The police are imposing one restriction after the other on Lokesh Babu’s programmes in Andhra Pradesh.

It is worth recalling that while he was the chief minister, Chandrababu had betrayed similar kind of unease at YS Jagan’s forays to different places. He stopped Jagan when the latter tried to visit Vizag. As a result, Jagan became a hero and got lot of sympathy. In fact, these curbs were effectively used by Jagan to emerge as an alternative to Chandrababu. It now appears that YS Jagan is making the same mistake that Chandrababu committed. By trying to obstruct Lokesh, he is ending up making him a hero.

Lokesh is displaying unusual activism these days. He is rushing to any spot where a girl student gets attacked or a TDP man is assaulted. He is taking up various issues and is staging protests. This is galvanising the TDP workers, who were hitherto dispirited. By trying to stop Lokesh, Jagan is making him a hero. If the same trend continues, Lokesh may emerge as an alternative to YS Jagan in the days to come.

Is it the end-of-the-road for Bhuma Akhila Priya?

1

Is TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu contemplating of keeping once-popular Bhuma family scion Akhila Priya? Is he planning to throw his weight behind her bête noire AV Subba Reddy? Has Chandrababu decided that Bhuma Akhila Priya is not the political force that she used to be some time ago?

The Bhuma family is one of the most powerful political families in Kurnool district and has held sway in both Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies for over three decades. Bhuma Nagireddy was one time MLA and three-time MP from Nandyal. His wife Bhuma Shobha Nagireddy was a many-time MLA and a former minister. But ever since the demise of Bhuma Nagireddy, the family has lost its sheen and despite being given several chances, Bhuma Akhila Priya has failed to consolidate herself. What more? She has alienated several Bhuma acolytes. Many of those who sweated it out for the Bhuma family have now left the party.

Even within the Bhuma family, there is no unity. Akhila Priya’s brothers have joined the BJP. He has been actively working for the BJP. This too has weaned a significant section of the Bhuma supporters away from Akhila Priya. Sources say that Chandrababu strongly feels that Akhila Priya has failed to utilise the opportunities provided to her. Akhila Priya is now battling a slew of cases, including kidnap and extortion and may find it difficult to regain the lost ground. Also, there are several complaints about her husband’s undue interference in party affairs.

Hence the TDP has now lost interest in Bhuma Akhila Priya. Party sources are said to be courting AV Subba Reddy, who was a close follower of Bhuma Nagireddy but has fallen out with Akhila Priya mainly due to her alleged abrasive ways. The party is already said to be nurturing Subba Reddy and his daughter.

Andhra police targeting TDP cadre, alleges Chandrababu Naidu

1

The Andhra Pradesh police has come under attack from TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who accused them of harassing his party cadre at the behest of the ruling YSRCP.

In a letter addressed to DGP Gautam Sawang on Wednesday, Naidu said that police atrocities have reached their limits in the last two years. “The reputation of police is hitting rock bottom with every passing day,” he declared.

Naidu alleged that false cases have been filed against six TDP activists of Mogulicherla village in Prakasam district. The local TDP leaders were let go late in the night but again summoned early next morning, Naidu alleged.

Unable to bear the police harassment, two of the TDP activists have attempted suicide. Only after that, the police have stopped the harassment, he alleged.

Those harassed include children aged between 6 and 10 years old, Naidu has claimed.

The TDP leader has demanded an inquiry into the Mogulicherla incident, and action in the matter.
