Director Surender Reddy is highly confident on his upcoming film SyeRaa which has Megastar Chiranjeevi playing the titular role. In his recent interaction with a leading Telugu news paper, the Dhruva director shared his experience of working on this prestigious and big budget film which is coming from the stables of Ram Charan’s Konidela Productions banner.

Surender Reddy said it was a dream coming true for him to call shots for a film with two Megastars of Indian cinema. He said the team did a profound research to know the history of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy before taking the film on to sets. He revealed that there are many goosebump-inducing war scenes in this period film which traces the unknown journey of the brave and heroic freedom fighter. He adds that the breathtaking trailer which is going to be out soon will augment the expectations to the next level in audience.

Talking about production and budget, Suri said Ram Charan gave him full freedom and didn’t comprise at any point and spent lavishly for war episodes. On working experience with Chiru, he said it has been a memorable journey for him throughout the shooting phase. He praised Chriu’s hardworking nature and his dedication towards the profession. He also revealed that Chiru pulled off many stunt sequences without any body double and added that the underwater fight episode will be a major highlight for the film.

Revealing about the biggest compliment in this journey, Surender Reddy said Chiranjeevi hugged him after watching the final rushes of film.

Tamil star actor to dub for Megastar

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus Syeraa is in the final stages of post-production. The film will get a wide release on October 2nd in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages. Critically acclaimed Tamil actor Aravind Swamy will dub for the role of Megastar Chiranjeevi for the Tamil version of the film. Aravind Swamy was quite excited to come on to the board. Tamil Superstar Kamal Haasan will be lending his tone for the voice-over of Syeraa.

The promotional activities of Syeraa will start next week and Megastar will be touring across the country to promote the project. Surendar Reddy directed Syeraa and the film is based on the life story of freedom fighter Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy. Ram Charan’s Konidela Production Company bankrolled the project. Nayanthara is the heroine and Amitabh Bachchan essayed a pivotal role in Syeraa.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated patriotic drama SyeRaa, which chronicles the life history of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, has been creating ripples in trade circles with its sensational pre release business in both Telugu states. Telugu360 has already reported that SyeRaa rights are sold for record prices in all areas.

As per the latest update, the theatrical rights of SyeRaa are going to fetch a mammoth 80 Crore rupees for the makers. The Ceded region rights were snapped for a staggering 22 Crores and Uttarandhra rights were bagged for 14.4 Crores. In Guntur and West, the film closed stunning deals with 11.50 Crores and 8.40 Crores. The Nellore region rights were sold for 4.80 Crores and the Krishna region rights are valued at 8.40 Crores. The makers are expecting close to 10.5 Crores from East region. The total pre release business of Andhra region stands at close to 80 Crores which is the highest for a Non Baahubali 2 film. Also no film apart from Baahubali 2 has collected more than 80 Crores in this region.

So, SyeRaa is going to be a real test for Chiranjeevi’s box office stamina. The Surender Reddy directional should perform exceptionally well in Telugu states to be termed as a hit. The expectations are very high and trade circles are predicting a solid start for SyeRaa. Ram Charan has produced the film on a massive scale. SyeRaa is set for grand release on October 2nd.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ambitious patriotic drama SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy is getting ready for release on October 2nd. This much awaited film is creating ripples in domestic market with stunning pre release business in Telugu states. However, the overseas business is a matter of concern for the makers as there are no buyers.

SyeRaa makers have pegged the overseas rights initially at 25 Crores considering its high budget and solid craze. But, no distributor came forward to snap the rights. Even at 20 Crores, they couldn’t close the deal. Renowned overseas distribution house Phars Films has offered 15 Crores for rights. But producer Ram Charan is not willing to close the deal at that price. He is looking for better offers. As the release date is fast approaching and prior planning is required for getting a wide release in overseas, the makers of SyeRaa should plan judiciously to get a good release there.

Ram Charan is still in a dilemma regarding the overseas rights. SyeRaa being a prestigious and big budget project, Charan cannot wait too long and mess up with the premiers. They need to finalize the deal well in advance to get good number of screens in overseas. Will they wake up and make sure that the film gets solid openings in overseas ? We have to wait and see.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus Syeraa is announced for October 2nd release and the makers are closing the deals one by one. There is tough competition for the Uttarandhra rights of the film. Leading distributors Kanthi Krishna Pictures acquired the Vizag rights of the movie for a record price of Rs 14.40 crores. Top producer Dil Raju too was in the race and he quoted huge price for the Vizag rights.

Earlier before this, UV Creations bought Nizam rights for a record price of Rs 30 crores. Syeraa is currently in final stages of post-production and the teaser received a positive response from all the corners. Surendar Reddy is the director and Konidela Production Company bankrolled Syeraa. Megastar Chiranjeevi is in plans to promote the film across the country as Syeraa is getting a wide release in all the major Indian languages.

Sitting in the editing suite, Megastar Chiranjeevi is said to be taking utmost care about the final output of Sye Raa. He is mercilessly chopping out some sequences, to make the film crisp and at a healthy runtime.

A talk is doing rounds about this particular underwater episode of Sye Raa, where Uyyalwada Narasimha Reddy takes on some of the British soldiers. As Uyyalawada is a good swimmer, he used to practice breathless acts underwater and used to dive into deep lakes to escape from enemies some times. Apart from a fighting episode, there are scenes where Chiranjeevi is seen showing doing yoga asanas underwater as part of his routine at Amitabh’s ashram in the movie.

They have spent huge to shoot this episode in Mumbai, where Chiranjeevi and coupe of other professional stuntmen known for their diving capabilities have taken part under the supervision of cinematographer Priya Seth (Airlift movie fame) who is popular for shooting underwater footage.

Retaining some yoga episodes, Chiranjeevi wants to chop away the fight sequence for now, but a final call is yet to be taken, a source revealed.

Both the films Saaho and Sye Raa are those super budgeted movies where the producers spent a mammoth without any second thought. And to take those films deep into the audiences in order to bring huge crowds to theatres in the first week, the teams of these movies are working really hard.

Taking a cue from Bollywood stars who promote their films very aggressively, Prabhas is repeating the same for Saaho. He’s been to all the TV shows and going to different cities to talk about the film. Already he has covered Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore in that process. At the same time, he has given interviews to almost all the leading Bollywood portals.

Megastar Chiru is also following the same pattern as they have roped in Pawan Kalyan to give voice-over which could rake up buzz, followed by Bollywood interviews and lots of hungama. But this marketing strategy, which is new to Tollywood as films are marketed here mostly on the hero’s image, is leading to rumors as well.

The moment Saaho Censor certificate came out, there is a buzz that film’s second half is weak, the first half is long and many like that. In the end, they add, that’s why Prabhas is promoting the film aggressively. Even Sye Raa is also getting haunted by similar rumors only.

Probably the mindset of audiences needs to take a new-turn here because as long as they think that excessive marketing is because of the average product, they are wrong.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan gave a terrific treat to Bollywood media folks to promote the teaser of ‘Sye Raa’ and announce the arrival of the movie. We have to say that it worked out because Bollywood can’t stop raving about this movie now.

When quizzed about why he picked Sye Raa, Megastar said, “This content is on my mind from a long time, as it happens to have action elements due to the patriotic connect, and also the emotions are bigger. At the same time, the story has commercial ingredients that could make it work at the box office”.

Is this the right time to do this film? “We have dared now, looking at Baahubali and its run” articulates Chiru, giving the whole credit of taking Sye Raa on the floors to Baahubali. But what about the huge budget involved as they say close to 200-300 crores is spent on the movie?

“As we are promoting the film, the money is still being spent and it stands close to 300 crores easily. But thanks to Baahubali, we’re not worried about the investment as that will easily comeback through collections and other sources” Chiru made it clear.

Directed by Surender Reddy and bankrolled Ram Charan, Sye Raa is hitting the marquee on October 2nd.

One of the most unprofessional thing being an actor/actress is, not promoting the film before the release. Star heroine Nayantara has once again repeated it, as she hasn’t budged her no-promotions rule even for Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Reason Sye Raa War Scenes look great

What is tough while making historical films is to craft war scenes that look like one. In some films like Vijay’s Puli, Anushka’s Rudramadevi and Kangana’s Manikarnika, war scenes look like a puppet show for various reasons. But how to make one like the one we see in Game Of Thrones?

Sye Raa has the answer for that if the teaser that was released other day is to be considered. More than visual effects alone, actually war scenes should be shot using real horses and also on jeeps and other equipment that go at the speed of those real animals. And visual effects should support the live-shots so perfectly that they should bring a more realistic look to the war rather just creating blood splatter and sword piercing. There is a reason why they are looking such real and awesome in Sye Raa teaser.

The whole of these war sequences are actually shot in Georgia with real horses and real riders. Then we have the likes of experienced Hollywood action choreographers Greg Powell and Lee Whittaker composing them, whose working style and output are totally different from how our ‘masters’ do. Then we have the latest camera rigs, cranes and other motion control equipment used by cinematographer Ratnavelu to film those scenes. On top of everything, talented VFX teams have done the rest of magic in the post-production.

This type of work actually makes the genuine different and we should appreciate Surender Reddy as well as Ram Charan in picking up such able technicians.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ambitious patriotic drama SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy is creating ripples with grand and extravagant teasers. After unveiling individual posters of all the pivotal characters, the makers have now released a single poster featuring the entire cast of the film.

The star-studded cast of SyeRaa is seen in their respective avatars in this riveting poster. Along with Chiranjeevi and Amithab Bachchan, the poster features Nayanatara, Tamannah, Jagapathi Babu, Vijay Sethupathi and Sudeep with intense looks on their faces.This is the first poster with the entire cast of the film and it received unanimous response from audience. The makers have interacted with media during the promotional event in Mumbai and announced that the film will hit the screens in multiple languages on October 2nd.

Directed by Surender Reddy, the film is produced by Ram Charan on a lavish budget. Amit Trivedi is the music composer and Ratnavelu has cranked the camera.
