Dhruva Nachathiram Postponed Again

Vikram and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s long delayed project Dhruva Nachathiram was announced for release today and the film could not clear the financial barriers which is the reason for the delay. The film is postponed again and the new release date would be announced soon. Gautham Menon took his social media page to announce about the delay of Dhruva Nachathiram.

“Sorry. Unable to get Dhruva Nachathiram to screens today. We tried our best. But looks like we need a day or two more. Hoping to give everybody a good experience with advance bookings and proper screens everywhere around the world. The support for the film is heartwarming and has kept us going. Just a few more days and we’ll arrive” told the statement of Gautham Menon.

Dhruva Nachathiram is an action thriller featuring Vikram, Parthiban, Vinayakan, Simran and Radhika Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Gautham Menon directed and produced this film. Dhruva Nachathiram started rolling in 2017 and was stuck due to Covid-19 pandemic and the delay continued.

Chiyaan Vikram, who was in the national capital to promote his film ‘Ponniyan Selvan I’, talked about sharing screen space with Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan again after ‘Raavanan’ and said that the actress is picture perfect.

Vikram said: “There have been many beauty queens but I must say Aish has something that has stolen everyone’s heart. She is picture perfect and I have seen her films, so it is not just about beauty but everything. She is always under a microscope and constantly being watched. So, she needs to be perfect all the time and I have seen how she does it in her own style.”

He also said that he is often told by fans about how they both look fantastic on screen.

“All our fans keep saying you both look so nice together but the thing is I don’t get her in movies so easily.”

Vikram also praised her dancing skills and added: “She dances so beautifully that during a shot, I just forgot myself and was lost watching her dance moves. It is music in motion. She is just perfect.”

Vikram, who is popular for his role in Tamil cinema and also did a few Malayalam and Telugu films, has been part of movies such as ‘Sethu’, ‘Samurai’, ‘Raavanan’, ‘Pithamagan’ and many more.

He called his role of Aditha Karikalan (Chola emperor in 10th century) in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyan Selvan I’ a ‘dream role’ as he always wanted to play a prince or a character of a warrior on-screen.

He said: “We all are playing very interesting characters in this film and I must say I am playing my dream role as I always wanted to play a character which is regal and beautiful. Every movie Mani Ratnam sir has done is so enthralling and very different and I am glad to be part of his film. You know we call him Steven Spielberg of India.”

Mani Ratnam’s directorial ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’, starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban, is all set to release on September 30.

There was big news yesterday about Chiyaan Vikram’s health. By the evening his son Dhruv Vikram clarified that Vikram has joined in hospital only due to discomfort in his chest and it was not a heart attack, where his fans felt relaxed. Vikram has missed his prestigious Ponniyin Selvan (PS1) teaser launch due to his health issues, But the star hero is not going to miss his next event.

Vikram is going to attend Cobra’s audio launch on Monday, ie., on July 11th at Phoenix market city, Chennai. This event seems to end the speculations on Vikram’s health. The film is directed by Ajay Gnanmuthu and produced by Red Giant Movies.

Vikram is fine, didn’t have a heart attack: Manager

Stating that actor Vikram was doing fine, his manager Suriyanarayanan on Friday clarified that the actor had not suffered a heart attack as was being reported in a section of the media.

Taking to Twitter, Suryanarayanan wrote, “Dear fans and wellwishers, Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same.

“He DID NOT have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect.

“That being said, we request you to give him and the family the privacy they need at this time.

“Our dear Chiyaan is fine now. He is likely to be discharged from hospital in a day. We hope this statement provides clarity and trust that the false rumours will be put to rest.”

It all started with a section of the media reporting that the actor had been admitted to the Cauvery hospital on Thursday and that he had suffered a heart attack.

This led to Vikram’s side issuing a clarification that he was fine and would be discharged in a day.

The news assumes significance as this means Vikram will not be present at the teaser launch of director Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, in Chennai on Friday.

Vikram Sketch not release in Telugu Sankranthi

Chiyaan Vikram is undoubtedly one of the finest performers Indian cinema has. The actor has a habit of signing films that are high on elevating his character rather than having good plot. In this process, most of his films ended up as debacles though his performance has been widely appreciated. As time passed, the actor’s films lost market in Telugu cinema and the actor too was not much bothered about this. While actors like Suriya, Vishal, Karthi and Dhanush have been keen on making their comeback, Vikram seems to have completely kept Tollywood aside.

His last movie 10 Endrathukulla failed to get a simultaneous release in Telugu and his next Iru Murugan released as Inkokkadu and bombed at the box-office. The actor wrapped up the shoot of his next film titled Sketch which completed all the post-production formalities recently. Directed by Vijay Chander, Tamannaah played the female lead and Sketch is all set for a wide release in Tamil during Sankranthi. There have been no signs of Telugu release and this hints once again that Vikram is not much bothered about Tollywood. Vikram has films Dhruva Natchathiram and Saamy Square which are under shoot.
