Jagan plan to use Amul to beat Heritage, Sangam

3

One of the main missions of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is to remove the control of one particular caste on the dairy industry in the coastal region. At the same time, the CM’s singular target is to hurt Heritage that belongs to the Chandrababu Naidu family. As part of this, the Gujarat-based Amul Industry was brought to Andhra Pradesh and it has opened its shops at many places in the State already.
In yet another step towards hurting local dairy farms, the Chief Minister is going to inaugurate procurement of milk by Amul. Once started, this is going to change the overall scene in rural areas. The so-called Sangam, Vijaya Milk and such local dairies are expected to suffer heavily.

The Sangam Dairy has long been operating in Guntur district and other places. It has got loyal suppliers of milk in the rural areas in the coastal belt. They are confident that their customers will not shift to Amul that easily.

Whatever, the milk procurement is also going to become a matter of political interest from now on. There are fears that pressure will be there on the dairy farmers from the volunteers to patronise and supply their milk to Amul.

Also, the CM has given indications already that Amul would pay a greater rate to the farmers than the existing dairy farms.

I-PAC denies Andhra Jyothy’s report, Heritage sends legal notice to Sakshi

0

Andhra Jyothy and Sakshi seemingly have two things in common, both have been writing unsubstantiated stories and equally of them get around well.

Heritage Foods sent legal notices to Sakshi Media house for issuing false statement on Heritage vehicles being used for red sanders smuggling. The Heritage Foods spokesperson clarified that the vehicle did not belong to the firm. It may be recalled that a four-wheeler allegedly which was painted with Heritage company logo was seized on Monday for unlawfully carrying 71 logs of red sanders worth one crore rupees at Karkambadi Road near Seshachalam Reserve forest in Tirupati. Sakshi media house broad casted the news alleging that the vehicle belonged the Chief Minister founded Heritage firms and accused the ruling party of dubious acts.

On the other hand, Andhra Jyothi broad casted a story, saying that I-PAC, led by strategist Prashant Kishor, conducted surveys and offered feedback to Opposition YSR Congress Party for the upcoming 2019 Assembly elections. The cross-party advocacy group denied the reports and in a tweet said “We haven’t done any survey nor have given feedback to YSRCP wrt any individual/party. All news in this regard is completely speculative”

It is evident from these reports that if detesting is failing to work, start broadcasting fabrications. It’s high time for both the media houses to ask before assuming.

Nara Brahmani terms GST a welcoming reform

Executive Director of Heritage Foods Nara Brahmani said that GST is progressive and a very welcoming reform for India. Speaking at the GST Day celebrations in Hyderabad on Saturday, she said that the regime will increase ease of doing business in the country. “We will be witnessing unified market facilitating seamless movement of goods across states and also potential reducing transaction costs in the long run”, she said.

Brahmani talking about the impact of GST on Heritage held that various tax barriers such as toll plazas, check-posts was a lot of wastage especially for perishable goods like dairy and this loss converted as major costs. With GST, there will be much more transparency in transactions. She said that the new tax regime converts the informal sector to a formal sector which to her means financial inclusion in the long run. Brahmani pointed that registration compliance of traders will increase and quoted that of the 80 lakh already 70 lakh merchants got registered. She appreciated the move of the government to decrease tax slabs on essential items like diary and food grains.

Brahmani asserted that transition process is extremely well planned and very robust as technology enablers. As a firm, Heritage decided that, if there is any decrease in rates for products like Ghee and Doodh peda, it would be given to the consumer fully. Wherever there is increase in costs like ice-creams and frozen desserts, the company without impacting the customers is trying to bear the burden and make the progress seamless.

The ED held that since the reform is fully digitised system, it will take some time for everybody to get used to it. She said that the impact on big companies like Heritage is less but believed that SME’s need some hand holding. The real impact or benefit of the regime will be understood only after 3-6 months and also said that she doesn’t see a problem beyond a couple of months.
